Choices of the Moon Book 2 : the human and the wolf

Chapter 13

Ellie

I couldn't think, everything was a big nightmare, my mother gave me water and tried to calm me down, but I couldn't help it.

"Let me see him, at least explain it to him." I asked her.

"Now I don't think it's going to help, Ellie," My mother replied and at that moment my father entered the room.

"Clarck is on his way." He only said it to my mother, but his eyes consumed me, as if he was trying to read me the whole time.

"I need to see him." I said in my father's direction.

But he just shook his head and sighed.

"Do you realize how you put everyone here in danger? How I have a huge problem now with a human within my Pack? Do you realize how many Council laws you broke? And you made me break? Speaking of the Council, I I need to report this to them…” Now my father rubbed his neck nervously.

"I kept needing to see him…"

"Ellie, you don't look like yourself, you look blind and…" My father started to speak but something my mother said mentally to him made him stop and let the air out of his lungs. "Timothy, take Ellie to the human's cell, I'll meet her there later."

I don't understand, what did my mother say to him that made him act like that? But I thanked him for agreeing and followed guard Timothy to where Louis was locked up, it was the basement of the Pack House, there were some rooms and some cages, and then I saw the man I loved trapped in one of the cages with two guards around, I felt my chest convulse.

He looked at me with wide eyes and swallowed hard, I was afraid if I touched him he would have the same reaction and push me away.

I would like to explain myself…

He approached the bars, but remained silent.

"I never wanted any of this to happen, and that's why I didn't want my father to see you, but I'll answer whatever you want…"

"Are you werewolves?"

"We prefer the term wolves…"

"And that's a…"

"Pack, but it works like a company."

"What did you buy the reservation for?"

"Expand territory, and have more forest for our wolves to run around in..."

"And your father is the king here?"

"The Alpha."

Louis shook his head and placed both hands on the bars.

"But that doesn't change the fact that I love you, even though it's impossible for a wolf to be with a human…" I placed my hands over his on the bars, and electric shocks took over my body, at the same time as the touch of his skin in mine calmed me down...

"Why it is impossible?"

"Each wolf has its life's mate, the wolf that the Goddess of the Moon chose to be your mate, with whom you will share your life, your soulmate. We discover this mate at the Moon Ball that takes place once a year, but I already spent 4 of them without finding my mate, it's not normal for a female, and without being interested in anyone, until I met you…"

Louis moved his hands, and I feared he wanted to take mine away from his touch, but instead, he held my hands and took a deep breath.

"I've never gotten involved like this with anyone, and I don't know how, and I don't know why, but I love you too…"

I felt my body being completely flooded with love, how could that man just find out I was a wolf, and still love me?

How?

I leaned my face closer, until my forehead touched the bars, and Louis did the same until our lips met, and I felt as if everything around me was erased, there are none of these problems.

Just the two of us.

The sound of the doors opening made me move away, and turn to see Wizard Clarck and my parents entering the room.

"So is this the human you were talking about?" Clarck said taking a few steps forward approaching Louis, I automatically took a step to the side to make way for him.

"That's him." My father replied.

Clarck looked at Louis as if he was analyzing every inch of him, he walked in circles around the cage, and we all remained silent to the point of almost being suffocating, he then brought his face closer and sniffed around Louis.

Until Clarck took something out of his pocket covered in a red velvet cloth, he opened the fabric and it was a small dagger, Clark took the dagger carefully by the handle, then held Louis' arm through the bars and stretched it out.

"What will you do?" Louis asked in a choked voice.

"Relax kid, just test my theory." Clarck responded as he took the small dagger and cut Louis' arm, who forcefully pulled his arm back and let out a scream of pain.

"What is this? It's burning." Louis said, furrowing his eyebrows and tightening his grip.

"It's silver." Clark said smiling, but I just didn't understand.

"I'm allergic to silver, so it burns me. And now, I'm…. Having another attack…." He started to choke, as if he was short of breath, as if he were dizzy, he tried to take his medicine from his pocket, but I saw his eyes widen, realizing his pocket was empty.

"I need…my…medicine…" He said slowly falling to his knees.

I looked around and saw Clarck smiling, taking a bottle of medicine from that was on the table.

I felt complete despair, I had the instinct to take the medicine and give it to Louis immediately, but Clark was like a grandfather to me, he was wise, he wouldn't do anything reckless.

I hoped not.

"This?" He asked and Louis nodded, extending his hand. "I'm sorry kid, those drugs were suppressing something big inside you, and now it needs to come out."

"What are you talking about?" I screamed, feeling Louis' despair as he seemed to choke without the medicine.

"Louis, right?" Clark asked and approached the saddle. "Take a deep breath and don't try to contain it, let him come, just breathe and let him take his place."

"What are you talking about?" Louis tried to say, still choking.

"Ellie dear, how about you let her talk to him?" Clark turned to me, and I didn't know who he was talking about until she came.

My wolf took over my body, and I couldn't stop it, when I realized I was on four legs and my light brown fur covered my body, when I lifted my snout to face Louis, I had time to see his eyes widen and he transform into a huge wolf with black fur.
