Chapter 4 

After leaving the house, I sent Aaron a text, hoping he would sign the divorce agreement. 

I received no reply. 

Two days later, Aaron finally called me. I collected my composure and answered. 

On the other end, Aaron’s voice was furious. “Where the hell have you been? You’ve gone too far! First, you curse our daughter to death, and now you’re divorcing me out of the blue! Is this how you are as a wife and mother? I really regret marrying you!” 

“Tonight is Ronnie’s birthday, and I’m hosting a party at home! My parents and friends are all

coming back. You’d better get back here and prepare!” 

I sneered inwardly and responded, “Sure, I’ll be right back!” 

“And don’t forget to bring back our daughter. My parents want to see her!” 

Aaron seemed scared of my refusal and quickly ended the call. I touched my daughter’s photo and knew I had to go. I needed to expose their family’s true color. 

When I returned home, everyone had already arrived. They were all enjoying themselves- Aaron holding Ronnie, with Rita by his side. It was as if they were one happy family.

Once upon a time, I had stood silently behind them, watching them from the shadows. But those days were gone. My daughter was dead, and my feelings for Aaron had died along with her. 

Seeing me walk in, Aaron showed no guilt. His face was only filled with anger. “I told you to come back earlier to prepare! Look at what you’ve done. If it weren’t for Rita, we wouldn’t have managed. Rita is more like the mistress of this house than you are!” 

Rita was smug. “Anna! Look at yourself. You really know how to make things difficult for 

Aaron. You’re just jealous and capable of doing anything!” 

Aaron’s parents were also deeply displeased

“Daddy! Ronnie loves you so much!” 

Ronnie made a heart shape towards Aaron, his innocent words cutting deeply. 

Daddy? 

“What did you call him? Say that again!” My face twisted in anger, causing Ronnie to shrink closer 

to Aaron.

mother looked at Ronnie with a touch of 

sympathy. 

Rita looked somewhat aggrieved. “Anna, if you have any issues, come at me! Ronnie is still a child, a child without a father.” 

Ronnie’s father had died of cancer, but does that mean he can take away my daughter’s father? 

My daughter never got to see her father before she died. 

Meanwhile, Ronnie is shamelessly enjoying the fatherly love that should have been my daughter’s!

Furious, I raised my hand and slapped Rita across the face. The slap used up all my strength, and Rita’s face quickly began to swell. No one expected me to explode like this. 

Rita, still trying to gain Aaron’s sympathy, was met with my onslaught. I beat and berated her. “You bitch! Why are you stealing my man? Why did you bring that little bastard and take my daughter’s father? I’ll beat you to death, your slut!” 

I pinned Rita to the ground and continued to assault her, causing Ronnie to cry in fright. Desperate for his mother, Ronnie begged Aaron to save her.

strength to pull me away. To prevent me from hurting Rita further, Aaron slapped me hard. 

How could I tolerate my husband siding with his mistress against me? I had endured so much to give my daughter a complete family, but now that she was gone, I had no reason to hold back. 

I turned on Aaron, attacking him with my fists and feet. The entire party turned chaotic. I felt a sense of satisfaction. 

They watched me warily, afraid of what I might do next. Rita clung to Ronnie, her face filled 

with terror.
