Chasing The Broken CEO

Chapter 81

Luxurious cars filled my eyes when we arrived at Speed- a racing field where Evan usually plays drifting and car racing. He told me that his friend, Clyde, owned this place. I can see the wide racing field from where we're standing. I am definitely in awe as this is the first time I ever visited this kind of place.

"Good thing I didn't bring my bodyguards with us. My father will definitely kill me if he finds out that we went in this place," I commented while leaning back to Evan's car.

I heard him closing the compartment of the car. He walked towards me with a huge bag on his left hand. Perhaps, he has all his racing hears inside that bag.

"We'll leave after a few hours," he said with a smile on his lips. "It's been a rough year. I missed doing this kind of activity."

I nodded, agreeing to what he said. I smirked and finger combed my hair that is being blown by a hot wind. The sun is up and the heat is all over the place that I can feel it through my skin.

"I don't see any player here though... Is that normal?" I asked him curiously.

"They don't come here around this time. They usually play during evening," he stated and then held my hand. "Let's get inside the clubhouse."

"Alright," I said and leaned on his broad shoulder.

Holding the hand of each other, we walked inside the clubhouse he's referring to. My lips parted upon seeing what is inside. Neon lights are everywhere. Red and Violet neon lights have filled the bar counter where we saw Clyde, who seems busy with mixing some alcohols. There are two billiard tables on the other side. I even saw an entertainment corner where different kind of PlayStation consoles are set up. As my eyes roamed around, it feels that this is more like a game hub to me. Boys and their games, really...

This place is like an art and is fit for bachelors. I could not blame Evan if he's fond of this clubhouse because it's truly relaxing and a place to have fun and forget about everything. There are no other people in here aside from us and Clyde. I am even wondering if they let other people outside their circle get in here or this is just for four of them exclusively.

We went to the bar counter. Clyde smirked immediately upon seeing us. I cleared my throat. All of a sudden, I remember how he became cruel to me when he revealed the whole truth back in Bohol. I haven't seen him for months and nothing has really changed. He's still that guy who appears to be so angelic but will cut your throat by his words.

"It's been a while, Evan..." he paused and then his eyes fixated at me, "Nathalie Saavedra..."

Even his words are scary. He's truly intimidating and I can't bear it. Why is that? I just find him so different from other Evan's best friends. "Yeah, long time no see," I greeted him formally and shoved away the fear for him. He just grinned before turning his gaze back at Evan. "Are you lost? Why a sudden visit?"

"Yeah, let's have a race?" Evan suggested with a smirk on his lips.

Grinning devilishly, Clyde put down the liquor he made and then slid it in front of me. My forehead automatically creased.

"Try it, Nathalie," he said and then gazed back at Evan. "Sure thing."

"I'll just get my clothes," Evan told me.

I nodded at him and watched him carefully. He walked towards a room and entered into it. I sighed heavily and decided to sit on a high steeled chair. I took the shot glass of liquor and drank it slowly. The sting and hotness immediately filled my lungs going down my stomach. Its bitter taste made me clear. my throat.

This one is a hardcore. Seriously!

"How is it?" Clyde asked me curiously.

"It's good though too hardcore," I commented and stared at him intently.

I can't believe that he's already married. He looks very cruel and untamed. Perhaps he's only kind when it comes to his wife, otherwise he should be divorced by now.

His devious smile became visible. Evan may be evil at times but it seems to me that Clyde is ten times evil than him. He's like a monster to me.

"Kaira didn't like that drink, too."

"Who's Kaira?"

"My wife," he answered. The side of his lips curled up. He smiled playfully.

I raised one brow on him. I don't know if it is just my imagination but the way he smiles as he mentioned his wife is kind of different. His eyes are both sparkling for some reason. She must be that special. "Can I be honest with you?" I asked.

"Sure thing. Go on," he tilted his head.

"I didn't know that you're the type of guy who will marry someone for love," I said and then shrugged my shoulders.

"And I didn't know that Evan is the type of guy who will chase a young and brat girl just like you," he fired at me.

I gasped because of what he said. I scowled at him but he only smirked and turned around to mix another batch of liquors from his cellar. I was about to say something but then Evan stole my attention. I felt his hand on my waist. I looked at him and noticed that he's already wearing a black leather typed racing suit.

Goodness! He's so dazzling!

"Did he argue with you?" Evan asked me.

"Sort of," I replied and gazed back at Clyde. "But I'm fine."

"Clyde..." Evan called him. "Come on, let's have a race."

Clyde raised his brow and gave us a smirk. Then he nodded and went out of the bar counter.

"I'll just get dressed, man." he said and then finally left us.

He's so cranky.

I wore my aviator as I glanced at those two luxurious racing cars. I could hear the sound of car engines from my position. Evan used a red sports car while Clyde was using a black one. Both are already prepared and set up on the start line. There is also a man who are standing in the middle of the road that will signal them once the race starts.

I feel so excited and nervous at the same time. This will be the first time that I will be able to watch a race personally. This is safe, right? I am a bit worried about Evan but I know that he's used to this kind of game.

I sat on the bleachers. I'm just so nervous that I am gripping on the strap of my bag firmly. I screamed when the man in the middle of the road just made a gunshot that means the race has finally started. In just a swift move, the two cars drove faster and left the starting line.

That fast!

With my heart pounding aggressively, I stood up and watched them as they drove faster on the second road. My eyes widened as both of them are driving fast like it is nothing! Oh my goodness!

"Is Clyde the other guy playing the race?" a soft voice asked me on my back.

I turned to her. She looks like a barbie doll with her curly hair. She's taller than me and has a tanned skin. Her almond eyes are staring at me. Her face is perfectly shaped. She gave me a smile and then put the red lollipop inside her mouth. Who is she?

I nodded slowly as a response. "So, you knew him?"

She squinted her eyes while gazing at the racing field. "Yes. I'm his wife. Are you Evan's girlfriend?"

Oh! Kaira?

"Yes, I am..." I answered.

She glanced my way. She smiled widely at me. I can't help but to admire her beautiful face. I mean, look at this girl! No wonder Clyde married her! She's truly gorgeous!

"Hey, I'm Kaira. Nice meeting you, Nathalie Saavedra." she said, introducing herself and then offered her hand to me. I accepted it and we shook hands.

"Oh, you knew my name!" I shyly exclaimed.

She nodded. "I heard your name so many times whenever the boys gathered in the clubhouse to have a serious talk." she answered and then glanced at the racing field. "Oh! Evan seems inspired! He's leading!" "H-huh?" I also gazed at the racing field and saw the two cars sprinting so fast. And yes, Kaira is right when she said that Evan is leading the game!

My eyes widened again, still in awe because of what I am witnessing. Kaira pulled me suddenly. We ran towards the finish line so we can wait for the two boys. I even cheered for Evan despite the fact he won't hear me. The next thing happened, Evan won the game.

"Oh, my God!" I exclaimed and then ran towards Evan who just went out of the car.

He's all smiles at me. I hugged him tight and congratulated him.

"That was so breathtaking!' I blurted out and pinched his cheek. "Don't ever drive like that when you're on a highway! You might cause an accident if you do!"

I heard him chuckle, "Of course, love."

"Good, then!" I chuckled and tiptoed so I can claim his lips.

He leaned down to meet my lips. We kissed and I can't help smiling while tasting his soft lips.

My heart feels happy as I kissed his lips. I hope we can stay like this... always and forever.

And my heart hopes that all the burdens we have will be gone sooner.

"Get a room, you two!" Clyde shouted at us.

I giggled and pulled away. Pursing my lips, I glanced at Clyde and Kaira who are watching us. Both of them are wearing a smirk. What a lovely married couple.I bit my lower lip and glanced back at Evan. He only smirked then he gazed at his friends.

"We'll do!" he replied in a loud voice so they could hear it.

I didn't complain when he held my hand pulled me all the way to the clubhouse. We went inside and ran upstairs.

"Come," Evan said as he snaked his arm around my waist while we are walking towards the room located on the end of the hallway.

He opened it and I figured out that it is his room in this place. I bit my lips, hiding my naughty smile due to the endless thoughts in my head.

"What are we doing here?" I asked him curiously, though it's pretty obvious as to what's going to happen next.

"Quality time, love..." he uttered softly and claimed my lips again.

I heard him locking the door. I smiled between our kisses. I held his nape so I can deepen our kiss.

"I love... you... Risha," he murmured before we go to bed.
