Chasing The Broken CEO

As per my request, Evan sent me home instead of sending me back to my office. The car has stopped in front of the familiar main gate of our house. I then removed my seat belt. With a small smile plastered on my lips, my eyes shifted on him. He leaned his head on the headrest of his seat and gave me a gaze.

"What time is your flight?" I asked him curiously.

"It's a private plane so it will only leave once I'm already there,” he replied to my question.

I nodded in awe. Well, he is damn rich and powerful. I should not have asked that question... I sighed and continue to stare at him instead. I tried to memorize every feature of his good looking face. Even though he already assured me that he would visit me twice a week, I knew that deep inside my heart, I would definitely miss this guy.

"Will it be alright if I try to call you every night while I am away?" he asked out of the blue.

His question made my forehead crease. I tried to suppress the mischievous smile on my lips by pressing it together. I then pouted it as the idea of him calling me every single night sounds very appealing. It might be fun and romantic. "As long as I am not asleep yet then it should be fine." I answered.

"I will also send you an update via text message from time to time. You have to inform me in case that Jameson Alleje starts to bother you again so that I can take a proper action to stop him," he stated, with is voice a little bit serious and deep. this time. I bet he is becoming the cruel Evan Zendejas again. "I will certainly play games with that trash if he continues tailing you."

"Evan, he is still a friend." I snorted and swallowed very hard. "I think he will listen to me as long as I will be honest with him."

"But still baby, he did not even talk to you when their family started to take a move and offered a crazy deal in order to help your company." He said with his brows furrowed.

"You knew everything, huh? Is there something else you don't know about?" my eyes narrowed as I still gazed at him.

He gave me a cool smirk. "I am trying to fix some things, Rish. I should be aware of every detail for me to succeed in my plans."

I shook my head. Maybe he has the point but knowing Evan Zendejas. He really has all the ways and power to stay up to date in everything. I shouldn't have asked that question when it is so pretty obvious though I don't really want to dwell and dig deeper when it comes to the things he would like to get fixed all by himself. As for me, I think it will be enough to see him exerting a lot of efforts as he tries to fix everything between us even though in reality, he doesn't have to do that at all.

I have a feeling that he is still blaming himself... regarding what happened to our company. That might be the reason as to why he is determined to take a proper move to turn things around even thought it is no longer needed. I still believe that us- my family, Shaira and I are the ones who must take serious action to get out of all this mess and fix the issues on our own.

Not to add that I am not sure that Evan could really do something when in fact my father lives with hatred because him. Daddy loathes him to death... sad to say.

"Please take care," I managed to say because that is all I want him to do. I will not be around him while he is in Manila to witness everything and so I just want him to take care of himself and be careful.

"I will... for you," he assured me and then he leaned forward to give me an assuring kiss on my forehead. "You have to take care of yourself too, baby. If you can then please stay away from that Alleje guy."

"Are you my boyfriend?" I asked sarcastically and rolled my eyes at him.

He grinned like a devil and suddenly leaned in again to give me a soft kiss on my lips. Holy cow!

"You don't kiss your friend, Risha. And mind you, I don't want to be just your friend either..." he stated in his husky voice.

I can't help but to pout my lips. He kissed me so many times today already! I then scowled at him as that is all I could do to react. He only chuckled and then pulled me for a warm hug.

What an unbreakable heaven...

"You are so clingy..." I mumbled softly, with my body getting weak because of his warm embrace.

"Hmm, whatever, Saavedra..." he chuckled once again before releasing me. "Get inside your house and rest for now."

"Stay safe, Evan..."

"Of course, Rish. I will see you soon, alright?"

I nodded and gave him a smile. I then opened the door beside me and finally went out of his car. I sighed before closing the door. I gazed at him and then proceeded in the main gate. I still feel his gaze on me as I walked very slow. I pressed the door bell and breathed out. I looked back at the car and I saw him smile sincerely at me as he waits for the main gate to open for me.

Our security guard greeted me happily when he finally opened the main gate. I also greeted him and then gazed back at Evan for one last time.

Our eyes met which made my heart feel the warm all over again. I smiled sincerely at him even though I feel the sadness inside my chest knowing I would be missing him for days.
