Chasing The Broken CEO

The days and time has gone by so quickly. I just realized that Chandria has to go back in Manila anytime soon. It's already Friday and her return flight to Manila will be on Sunday afternoon. She picked me up after work today because she still wanted to explore some tourist spots here in Bohol before she go back home. I didn't object on that because I also wanted to have some time with her. We didn't have much time to roam around given that I am working on weekdays but I'd love to go with her since it's Friday. I have nothing else to do tomorrow anyway.

My jaw literally dropped on the floor when she stopped the unfamiliar car in front of me. It was actually a Nissan Patrol jeep and I don't know where she got this car! She looked hot and adventurous in her yellow v-neck crop top and a black square pants. She removed her golden aviator gracefully and then hanged it on her crop top.

"Chandria, where did you get this car?" I asked her curiously.

"Duh! Your grandmother owned this car, babe! This was the car your grandfather used to drive back in the days. It looks cool so I borrowed it from grandma Helga," she said and then she giggled. She moved immediately and opened the door of shotgun seat for me. "Come on, let's go!"

"You should've borrowed a nice car. I think grandma has other cars aside from this. Why did you choose this one?" I ranted with my forehead creasing evidently.

She just laughed at me. I think she's trying to make me suffer. This jeep is too huge and the seat is so high, giving me a hard time to sit on it. I had to spread my legs in order to get seated! Not to add that I am wearing a fitted black dress! Holy COW!

"What the fuck!" I groaned as soon as I'm settled on my seat.

"Don't be so picky! This car looks great!" she exclaimed while laughing so hard.

"For God's sake, I am wearing a fitted dress and you want me to be cool with this?" I hissed.

"The hell I care! This car looks cool as I used it!" she snorted and then she started the engine of this vehicle.

I rolled my eyes and just shook my head. She's acting so crazy again but in the end, I just let her do the lead on this trip because I wanted her to enjoy her remaining days here in Bohol.

I let her decide where to go. As we drove our way, I can't help but to stare at the beautiful sunset. The sky is already turning orange red because of it which complimented the sunset even more. I leaned my arms on the opened window and let out a sigh. I let the raging air blew my hair too.

Chandria turned on the radio and a reggae song filled my ears. The song has a good tone that made me bang my head a bit. I smiled inwardly.

Why do I feel so calm and alive today? It's been a while since the very last time I feel this kind of vibe.

Chandria has been driving for almost an hour. I just realized that we are already on the beach when I smelled the salted air and heard the waves coming from the sea. It's already seven o'clock in the evening when Chandria parked the patrol jeep at the parking lot of a high end bar. We went of the car and then she held me in my hand and dragged me to the front part of the beach where there people dancing and having fun. They are mostly locals and foreigners.

The high end bar used the beach front as the dance floor. Chandria paid for our entrance and then she dragged me on the dance floor. The night is so young yet the people seems to be wasted already. They are still lively though and can still dance properly. The upbeat music filled my ears. I looked at the stage and there is a DJ who are mixing sounds.

"You really want to get wasted tonight. Is that your plan?" I asked Chandria.

She chuckled like a kid. "Come on, babe! I just want to have some drinks tonight!"

I rolled my eyes. I shook my head and just let her because I know that she can't be stopped now that we're here.

"Let's go inside!" she pointed her finger to somewhere, I followed it and saw the counter of this bar. "We can eat first and then drink afterwards."

I didn't complain when she dragged me so we can go inside the bar. It was also a good thing that they serve meals for dinner here. I don't want to die in acid reflux so I need to eat before having a strong drinks.

We ate our dinner and as soon as we're done, Chandria ordered a dozen glasses of tequila. She's beyond energetic, like it's been years since the last time she tasted a drink. She already finished three shot glass of tequila and all I could do is to shake my head in disbelief.

"Hey, we're not going to run out of drinks! Take it slowly, babe!" I warned her but she just shook her head.

"Look, babe! It's been a while since the last time we went out for a drink. I'm just really happy, alright?" she reasoned out with a wide smile on her lips.

I shrugged and finished one shot glass of tequila. After that, I tasted a piece of lemon and groaned because the sour taste of it.

"I am happy too. It's been a long time," I smiled at her genuinely.

"Oh, I want to cry so hard! Is this true? You're really smiling now!" she exclaimed and acted like a crybaby. She wiped her fake tears away.

I can't help but to laugh so hard because of Chandria. She's funny and at the same time, I felt like my body is at ease and relaxed right now as if I don't have any grudge at all. It's like all of my problems were gone and my chest isn't heavy, in fact it is calm and warm.

Too strange but I don't feel the cold in it anymore. Or maybe this is only temporary... I don't really know.

We talked about a lot of things on our table. She told me how her life has changed when I decided to live in Bohol. She became a hard working painter and a hands-on stalker for Sei. I found out that she stalked him for months before he noticed her and then little did they know, they already fell for each other.

She also told me how happy she was because of that man. Sei loves her so much and she can't deny it. It's pretty obvious that she's happy because I can see the contentment in her eyes while she talked about her man.

"I am glad that you're happy with Sei, Chan. I'm happy that he's taking good care of you. And maybe I should thank him for making you feel complete." I said and smiled widely as I stared at the eight shot glass of tequila that I already finished.

I took another shot glass and finished it in just a few seconds. I felt the sting on my lungs down to my stomach but it felt great at the same time. I missed it up to the point that I can't stop myself from drinking more. I heard her chuckle, "I hope it's fine with you that Evan's best friend is my boyfriend."

"It's fine. So long as your boyfriend's name isn't Evan, I am absolutely cool with it." I replied and laughed a bit.

"Oh, really?"

I screamed when Chandria pinched my waist. She's eyeing me suspiciously that made me uncomfortable. It's like we are teenagers who are having conversation about our crush. I shook my head and shove her hand away. "He hurt me so much, Chandria. Whatever you're thinking right now, you can stop that, alright? It's not gonna happen. I already learned my lesson in a very hard way." I added and then drank another shot glass of tequila. "What if he had a valid reason as to why he did all that, Nathalie?"

I felt the dizziness on my eleventh shot of tequila. I licked my lower lip and stared at my best friend.

"Whatever... I don't really care that much... He made a choice and the damage has been done... I also made a choice and chose to be here instead... I guess we're meant to live our lives separately... That's the end of it..." Chandria's eyes looked so weak already because she's drunk but she managed to look at me in the eyes. She gave me a smile and shook her head.

"You can never tell, babe! You can't speak with finality unless you hear everything from him!"

Even though I felt dizzy, I still stared at her intently. My eyes almost narrowed because of her statement. I'm getting curious about what she meant by that. She stood up and pulled me from my sit. The dizziness hit me more. I swallowed hard when I felt my stomach acting a little bit weird already.

"Why are we talking about boys? Let's forget about them for now because I want to dance!" She announced in glee.

She didn't listen to me and instead of telling me everything she knows, she just dragged me outside the bar. This girl really wanted to dance despite the fact that she's drunk and very wasted!

I felt the cold and salted night air embracing me when we went to the beach front. The white sands beneath my feet felt relaxing too. The loud music was turned up and the locals and foreigners here were all dancing gracefully. Chandria dragged me into the center part of the beach front. I laughed when she started dancing with her hands in the air. I slowly moved and then danced with her after a few seconds. We both laughed when she started shouting her heart out and did some sexy dance.

We danced and had fun for almost then minutes until the music has changed into a love song. We both stopped and observed the people around us who started to dance slowly with their partners. I chuckled a bit as we're the only ones that didn't have partners. She pursed her lips and crossed her arms on her chest.

The neon lights started to move slowly. I felt dizzy simply by watching it. I turned around and looked up at the night sky. The crescent moon shines brightly along with the million stars. I closed my eyes and inhaled the fresh and salted air. This feels really good...

I saw a familiar face of a man when I opened my eyes. He pulled Chandria to him and they danced together along with the slow music. I squinted my eyes in order for me to recognize the man dancing with her but another man just stood up in front of me, blocking them.

I looked at the man who are also staring at me. I don't know who he was but he has this angelic face and a sexy smile.

"Can I have this dance?" He asked in a soothing tone that made me blink twice.
