Chasing The Broken CEO

Chapter 33

Chandria and I had our dinner first in a fine restaurant near Bonifacio Global City and then after that we went to the new high end bar she was referring to.

We were both chuckling over something as we entered in the main entrance. We only stopped when a security guard blocked us. My brows furrowed, confused. I held Chandria in her arm. "Excuse me? What's wrong?" Chandria asked the security guard with her forehead creasing.

The security guard's face looked blank. He's tall with a buff body, "This place is not applicable for minors, ladies."

I closed my eyes and pinched the bridge of my nose. This happens most of the time. Whenever we want to enter a bar to get wasted, we always end up getting blocked my security guards first because they always suspect us as being minors. I am not so sure if that is a compliment though. I just hate it because it causes an influx of people falling in line and waiting only because we have to prove that we are not minors.

Chandria laughed sarcastically. I shook my head and just let the security guard checked my office Id only to prove that I am not a minor. My best friend provided her Id too. "Are we done here?"

The security guard nodded and handed us our Ids. He let us in after a few seconds and we both giggled about what happened.

"Maybe you looked like a fourteen year old girl that's why he blocked us," said Chandria and then she clung her hands on my arm.

"Look who's talking" I exclaimed as she also looked like a fourteen year old girl to me. "And for a record, that's not even funny!" I rolled my eyes.

I remember the first time Evan and I met. He also thought that I was a minor back then. I pouted my lips. Should I bring my birth certificate to prove my age to everyone?

Strobe lights have welcomed us upon entering into the bar. The place is already filled with people. There are folks dancing in the dance floor and there are people having a good time in VIP lounges and on the second floor. The loud music makes these people so energetic. I glanced at Chandria and she's already head banging.

I let her dragged me in the nearest bar counter. We sat on the high steeled chair as my gaze roamed around the place.

This place seems lively compared to some high end barks I've been to before. Perhaps people who like to manage a business like this have different preferences and ideas on how to make it more patronizing. I've been to elegant bars before, and it's kind of boring as the ambiance is too peaceful. I prefer going into a bar like this as it makes me feel different. Loud music and lively people make me feel like I am a normal human being.

I looked at the good looking bartender and then glanced at Chandria. Her lips parted in shock. Obviously, she's fascinated in him. He's like a Japanese model because of his chinked eyes, defined facial features and clean hair cut. He smiled at us, making his dimples very visible. I noticed that he has a piercing on his right ear. His earring is sparking perfectly.

Chandria cleared her throat. I chuckled a bit as I can really tell that the man in front of us have affected her so much. I must admit that this bartender has an oozing charm.

"Good evening, ladies. I hope you're having fun," said by the bartender, still smiling at us.

I leaned my arms on the counter-top and looked at Chandria. She blushed immediately and looked away.

"Two shots of your best tequila, please..." I ordered politely.

The bartender nodded and stared at Chandria for a few seconds before he does his thing. He turned his back on us and started mixing up some drinks.

I elbowed Chandria. I was shocked when she pinched my arm, trying to suppress her screams but already gushing in glee.

"How can you be so weak when it comes to good looking man?" I joked.

"What the hell! Don't you recognize him? That's Sei Yamaguma!" she whispered to me.

"Huh? Who?" I asked her curiously but she ended up gushing again.

She leaned in, putting her lips on my ear. "Sei Yamaguma! He's one of Evan Zendejas' good looking best friends!"

"What did you say?" I exclaimed.

The bartender turned to us curiously and then went ahead to mix up our drinks. Wait! He's Evan's another best friend? Why is he here? He's working as a bartender! "Is... he working her?" I asked Chandria.

She giggled. She patted me on the head.

"He owned this bar, Nathalie." She replied with a playful smile on her lips.

I gasped. I looked at Sei again whose still making our drinks. Now I am wondering if he knows me by chance. What if he's already aware that I am Evan's fiancee and tell the bastard that I am here? And so what if he tells him that I am here? That shouldn't be a problem!

What am I even thinking?

Finally, he turned to us while holding our ready drinks. I stared at him carefully. It seems that he doesn't know me though. He acts like we're strangers for him.

I sighed in relief. My eyes checked the whole place again and it seems that Evan isn't here too. Great! I can drink all night and get wasted!

"Enjoy your drinks, ladies..." he uttered in a fluent yet seductive tone.

"T-thanks..." Chandria responded shyly.

I can't help but to roll my eyes. Seeing my best friend acting like she's a certified shy type woman makes me want to vomit. It's obvious that she likes this guy. I mean she likes him a lot.

The night went on and we're having a good time. I lost count on how many shots of tequila I already drank. I just felt the sting in my lungs when I finished another of it. That gave me a warm feeling. I laughed when Chandria finished her shot too. She's quite competitive though!

"I can't really blame you, Nathalie! If I have parents like yours, I would do the same! I would escape from them and won't let them ruin my dreams just because they are freaking greedy when it comes to power!" she stated dramatically. I told her everything that happened but not the kiss I've shared with Evan. That one is kind of special and I want to keep it to myself this time. I nodded slowly, agreeing to her statement. That made me dizzy.

"They already apologized, Chan. Stop bashing my parents in front of me, alright?" I breathed in and smiled bitterly.

"I am only being honest with you, Nathalie. You know that I love you, right? I don't want to see you suffer but to be honest, it's you who chose to suffer like this. I mean... you have the ability to refuse the arrangement. You can decline their offer but it looked like you want to get married with Evan too!" she giggled and then she raised her hand so that Sei would notice her. He did. "Hey! Another shots of tequila, please!"

I shook my head and giggled. She's getting crazy! I let out a sigh and just watched Sei while making another drink for Chandria.

"You're already tipsy, lady." Sei stated and handed her the shot of tequila. "That would be your last shot for tonight."

I almost cringed when Chandria did a puppy eyes and playing cute in front of Sei. He only smiled. I laughed so hard when my best friend made a flying kiss for him.

Sei shook his head and then he chuckled.

Compared to that playful and evil Ash, Sei is way more gentle and serious. Meanwhile, Evan has everything. Sometimes he tends to be kind and playful, but most of the time, he's serious and cranky. There are times that he made me feel comfortable but most of the times, he makes me feel annoyed.

He's completely an opposite of me. However, despite his personality, he's still like a challenge to me. Instead of running away, I would still prefer to stay and get to know him better.

Is it because he kissed me? No.

I am not that type of girl who will be whipped because a certain guy kissed me...

I am interested in him because he is too arrogant and ruthless, and I want him to chase me badly.

I heard a clicking of a camera. I squinted my eyes as I stared at Sei. He's typing something on his mobile phone and then he took a picture of me again.

"What are you doing?" I asked him in a weak tone.

He smiled to me, "Sending your phone to a friend. I just thought he needs to know that you are here and already drunk."

I blinked twice and just grinned at him.

"You..." I pointed my finger on him. "You better tell your friend that I am beautiful and he needs to court me!" I laughed and leaned on Chandria's shoulder. "Chan, I want to throw up..." Everything became blurry. I heard laughs and voices but I could no longer respond to everything.
