Chasing The Broken CEO

Chapter 24

I smiled widely as I stood up and walked towards the little machine she is using to create a pot. I am really fascinated as to how it moves in circle slowly while a huge amount of clay of mud is placed in the middle, waiting to be molded by bare hands. I sat on the chair in front of the machine with excitement evident inside my chest. I looked at the young girl again and she nodded her head, waiting for me to try it myself. I slowly touched the clay of mud as it moves in circle. "Oh, my goodness!" my heart almost jumped inside my chest when I felt the clay on my palms. It feels like a single hand move would destroy the clay into pieces. That scares me a bit! It's already a bit molded and I do not wish to destroy its form!

"No worries, Miss. Let me show you how to do it."

The young girl sat beside me and then she held me in my hands and slowly guided it on the mud. She helped me mold the mud gently and it is working! I laughed a bit when I finally got a grasp as to how it works. I bit my lip as I watched the mud slowly forming a little better because of my bare hands. This feels really good!

"This is way easier than I thought! I could live my life this way and just work here," I said happily. I looked at the young girl beside me. "Hey, what's your name, by the way?" "My name is Bea, Miss." She replied with a smile on her lips. "Are you a tourist here?"

I nodded happily. "Yes, I am. And my name is Risha Nathalie. It is nice meeting you, Bea! I really like this pot we are crafting. Would it be alright if I buy this once it is done?"

"Of course you can, Miss Nathalie! This pot will still have to get dry so it will be done. You can come back tomorrow so that you can get it, Miss."

"Oh, I see but sure! I will do that!" I replied with a smile.

I continued molding the clay until it is shaped in a nice way. After an almost two hours of forming the small pot, Bea has helped me put draw a design on it. We used a thin sharp wood and drew some sun flowers on its outside part. Bea also wrote our names underneath it.

Nathalie x Bea

I smiled as this pot truly made my day. Somehow, it removed all the worries in me.

"How old are you?" I asked the young girl curiously.

Beads of sweat were formed on her forehead. She wiped it using a clean handkerchief and smiled at me shyly.

"I am eight years old, Miss."

"Do you go to school?"

She nodded at me. I gazed down at the pot we created. I must admit that she seem to be good at this kind of art.

"Do you work here? Or is this a family business?"

"This is our family business. My mother started this business a few years ago and I am helping her in creating pots as I love art and doing designs."

I nodded, really satisfied with her answer.

For a moment, I felt envious as she can do the things she loves the most. She loves to help her family in doing this kind of business. I bet her parents are also allowing her to do the things she likes. They are giving her freedom. Meanwhile, there is this woman named Risha Nathalie Saavedra, who lives differently. I am caged, captivated to fulfill my parents' dreams and wishes.

Bea is kind and very cheerful. She toured me in their beautiful village. She told me a lot of things about living in this place and the traits of the locales in here.

"You know what? I envy you!" I said as we enjoyed our food in a nice cafe in the village.

I treat her some sweets because she's too kind to me. Her forehead creased, confused as to what I just said. She finished eating her pasta and looked at me curiously. "Why do you feel that, Miss?"

I leaned back on my chair. The side of my lips curled up for a bitter smile. I sighed heavily and then stared at her almond eyes.

"I just wished to be someone like you. You're living a normal life. You are free to do the things you love and I bet your mother loves you so much based on how you described her earlier," I said.

I know she's too young to understand what I just told her. She only shook her head and then giggled.

"No, Miss. I should be the one envying you! You are rich and gorgeous too!"

"Hey, you're beautiful! What made you say that?" I chuckled.

She pouted her lips. "I have a crush on someone but he doesn't feel the same thing with me. Maybe I am not really pretty that's why..."

I laughed a bit. I shook my head in disbelief. She's really a child, after all.

"You are beautiful, Bea. Just because this boy doesn't feel the same thing towards you, doesn't mean you're not pretty and likable. Look at you! I envy your curly black hair, your pouty lips and you also have a fair skin!" She giggled, her eyes sparkling. It seems that she became motivated with my statement. She must be because those are true!

"How about you, Miss? Do you have a crush on someone or maybe a boyfriend?"

Her question caught me off guard. I coughed abruptly as a familiar face of a guy showed up in my mind. I remembered the way he stares at me darkly, his grumpiness and ruthless presence.

"No, I don't have one..." I said, shaking my head.

"Really? That's unbelievable though. You are so gorgeous, Miss. Most of the men here in our village were turning their heads on you!"

I laughed. "I don't have a boyfriend, Bea. That's the truth, alright? Besides, you're still young for that kind of topic. You have to prioritize your studies first before anything else. Please keep that in your mind."

She pouted her lips again. She looked unconvinced with the fact that I don't have a boyfriend. I chuckled and patted her head gently, and then we continued eating as we talked about a lot of things about her life, my life and how beautiful Basco, Batanes is.

Thanks to Bea, I felt normal once again.
