Chapter 1532
Quintin picked up a cherry and popped it in his mouth.
“Yes.
Lila, these cherries are so sweet.
I didn’t expect fruits to be so tasty in Apliaria.”
Lila remembered Rachel telling her that Quintin stayed abroad, but she didn’t know where.
Her voice was tinged with curiosity when she asked, “Do you not get these fruits where you Live?”
“Not really.” Quintin spat out the seed.
“They’re not as sweet as the fruits here.”
“How about I buy you some cherries? You can take them with you.”
Quintin nodded.
“Bring some fruits that Joey likes to eat as well.”
Lila wasn’t sure why she should prepare fruits that Joey liked, but she agreed without giving it much thought.
With the tray, Quintin went back to his room and closed the door.
The friendly smile on his face suddenly disappeared.
He turned to look at the table some distance away.
The laptop was still there.
However, the envelope from under it disappeared.
Quintin placed the fruit tray down and took a sip of the drink.
He then walked to the bedside and reached out his hand to feel for something under his pillow.
After a while, he took something out.
It was the envelope that was under the laptop.
When Lila’s knock woke him up, he noticed Joey near the table that held the laptop and the envelope.
His head cleared in an instant.
Quintin wasn’t sure if Joey had seen the ticket in the envelope or not.
He quickly got out of bed, walked to the table to take the envelope, and hid it under his pillow while Joey was busy talking to Lila.
When he hid it, he looked specifically at the envelope.
It had not moved, which meant Joey hadn’t opened it yet.
Quintin was relieved.
Lila’s timely intrusion was a real help.
He didn’t dare to think what would happen if Joey had seen the envelope.
He didn’t even know how to explain it to him.
Quintin pursed his lips as he took out the contents of the envelope.
There were two airline tickets for the day after tomorrow.
They would fly from Apilaria to the Mariana Islands.
One ticket was for him, and the other for Joey.
Quintin had not bought them.
It was Rachel who had already taken care of it.
Quintin sighed and murmured to himself, “How do I get Joey to the airport with me?”
