Chapter 75
"Mom, Victoria is still carrying my child. I can't be that cruel to her..."
Mrs. Hill stared in disbelief.
She suddenly went wild, throwing herself at Nathan and screaming uncontrollably, "Your father is about to kick me out of the house, and you're only thinking about Victoria? Nathan, I raised you with so much pain, and this is how you repay me?"
She swept her hair from her face, revealing a large burn, tears welling up as she cried, "Look at my face, it's your father who burned me with hot porridge. And it's all because of you, because you're such a disappointment. Other women can rely on their sons to rise in status, but what have I done wrong, raising you with such sacrifice only for you to bring me this disaster..."
Nathan stood frozen, staring at the hideous scar, unable to process the horror.
He sighed in despair, "I'm sorry, Mom. I haven't been the pride you hoped for. Instead, I've only caused you so much trouble. I'm sorry." He covered his face with both hands, tears seeping between his fingers. Mrs. Hill choked on her words, "Was it worth it? Nathan, to abandon your wife and child for Victoria, leaving us in this miserable state. Was it worth it?"
Nathan didn't answer her. In a daze, he stood up and staggered out of the Hill family home.
The city's streetlights flickered, lighting up the night's flowers, yet Nathan couldn't feel their beauty. He felt out of place in this world-his father despised him, his mother cursed him as a disaster, and the whole internet called him a deceitful man.
But all he did was try to save the woman he loved, inadvertently hurting Isabella.
He didn't deserve this.
Why, then, did it feel like living was worse than death?
"Nathan..."
A low, choked voice called from behind.
Nathan turned and found himself at the gate of the Moore family's townhouse.
Victoria stood there, looking exhausted.
Nathan opened his arms, and Victoria ran straight into them. The two embraced tightly.
Victoria sobbed, "Nathan, how did things turn out like this? We only loved each other, what's wrong with that?"
Nathan held her close, as if trying to merge her into himself.
But Victoria sensed something wrong in the suffocating atmosphere. She lifted her tear-streaked face to look at him.
She heard Nathan's barely audible voice: "Victoria, we should break up."
Victoria felt as if her body had frozen, her legs giving way beneath her. She was a parasitic vine; her sickness needed Nathan's money for treatment, and without him, she would wither away.
"Nathan, I don't want to break up with you. Please don't push me away. Without you, I'll die." Nathan closed his eyes, tears falling.
"Victoria, this is wrong."
"I can be selfish and not care about Isabella's feelings, but I can't be selfish and ignore my mother's feelings."
"I can't ruin my mother's peaceful old age just for my happiness."
"I'm sorry." Nathan pushed her away forcefully.
Victoria cried uncontrollably.
"We even have a child together, and you want to break up with me? How are we supposed to live?" Nathan replied, "Get rid of the child."
Victoria's face drained of color. She stared at him, unable to believe it.
He had once said their love was unbreakable, so she had been carefree, but now, even their vows were drifting away.
"Nathan, when you say 'break up,' does that mean cutting ties with me completely? Will we truly never have any relationship again?"
Nathan sadly nodded.
Victoria's body trembled like leaves falling in the autumn wind, and without warning, she collapsed to the ground.
"Victoria..."
Nathan cried out, panic rising in his chest. He rushed to hold her, quickly taking her to the hospital's emergency room.
In the long, silent hallway, a tall,
elegant figure leaned lazily against the wall, a mocking smile playing on her lips as she watched Nathan, anxiously pacing outside the ER.

When Nathan saw her, it was as if an electric shock had hit him.
It had only been a few days, but the sight of her now made his heart feel indescribable.
Because of her, his world had flipped upside down. From being a revered Nathan, he had become a despised outcast.
He and Victoria had endured so
much and were supposed to enjoy a quiet life together, raising their child. But because of her, his love had been crushed, and even his mother's love had withered.
Nathan walked toward Isabella with heavy steps.
His eyes were dark, unreadable.
Isabella glanced up at the security cameras, her smile widening.
"Isabella... what are you doing here?" He should have screamed at her, venting all his pain and anger, but
instead, his question came out soft.
Perhaps, deep down, he still felt guilty toward her.
Isabella casually replied, "Oh, I'm just here to watch the drama."
Nathan narrowed his eagle-like eyes, confused.
At that moment, the ER door opened, and the doctor emerged. "Are the patient's family here?"
Without hesitation, Nathan rushed to the doctor. "Doctor, how is she?"
The doctor said, "The patient is fine, but the baby inside her... the heartbeat has stopped."
The doctor paused, then delivered the grim news, "You should prepare yourself. It's highly likely that she will never be able to get pregnant again.'
Nathan froze.
The doctor sympathetically patted his shoulder before leaving.
Nathan suddenly let out a heart-wrenching scream. His tall, strong body crumpled to the ground like a broken statue.
Heavy footsteps approached, and a pair of white high heels stopped in front of him. Nathan looked up, his tear-streaked face meeting Isabella's gaze.
He suddenly remembered how, when he was upset in the past, Isabella would always do whatever it took to make him smile.
Isabella crouched down, her smile as bright as ever, looking at him with a glint in her eyes. "Nathan, does it hurt?"
Nathan's face turned ashen.
How could it not hurt?
"Good, that's the point. Nathan, the heavens are fair. My child died, so the heavens took Victoria's child
too.
Nathan glared at her, his eyes burning with fury. "You're here to add insult to injury, aren't you?"
Isabella nodded. “Nathan, both of
your children died in the womb. Have you ever thought about this? It's heaven's punishment for you. You're destined to be alone for the rest of your life."
Nathan's fingers trembled violently. "Isabella, this is all your fault. Do you realize you've taken away the
chance for your Bella to ever be a mother again?"
"If anything happens to Victoria because of this, I won't let you off the hook."
Isabella laughed derisively.
