Chapter 249

Karl instinctively asked, "What do you mean, what feeling?"

Elaine, worried that Karl wouldn't understand, elaborated, "I mean, how do you feel about her?"

Karl replied, "Not great."

Just the thought of Bianca from earlier sent a chill down his spine.

"That girl, she always looks like she's been wronged, like she's about to burst into tears at any moment." Elaine nodded, "So, would you ever want a girlfriend like that?"

Karl nearly bit his tongue. "No way! I wouldn't want a girl like that, especially someone who's been

bullying you. Even if I were looking for a girlfriend, she'd be the last person I'd pick."

Seeing Karl's disgusted expression, Elaine was sure that he would never fall for Bianca.

Now, she just had to make sure that when Bianca tried to manipulate Karl, she would cause a major scene.

That way, their connection would be cut for good..

Elaine thought that this issue was pretty much resolved-until she got a call from Jepson that afternoon. "Elaine."

The moment Elaine heard Jepson's voice, she coldly replied, "Jepson, what do you want now?"

Jepson had already prepared himself for a frosty reception, but hearing those words still hit him hard. He wanted to say something, but when he opened his mouth, all he could manage was, "I'm sorry for what happened before.

Elaine shot back, "Jepson, what do you really want? Spit it out already. I don't need to hear you apologize. If you want to make it up to me, then crush you and the entire Yeats family under my heel, so you and Bianca can live a miserable, torturous life forever. If you can't do that, then don't waste your time with 'sorry."

Jepson's face turned bright red, but he pushed through and blurted out, "Can you... can you help Bianca with George and Sandra? Ask them to forgive her, or at least convince Sandra to adopt her as a daughter? Can you do that?"

Elaine burst out laughing on the other end of the line. Jepson, has Bianca kicked your brain out of your head? You apologize one minute and then ask me for something like this? How did I never notice that a man who prides himself on being so proud" could have such thick skin?"

Jepson's face burned even hotter with embarrassment, and he couldn't say a word in his defense.

He knew, deep down, that he'd gone too far.

But at this point, he was out of options.

Calvin still hadn't been released.

This morning, they'd received some bad news.

Maybe Calvin wouldn't get out at all.

They had hired a lawyer, but so had the Morgan family.

The other side was determined to make sure Calvin and Maggie spent their lives in prison.

So. Jepson was pinning his hopes on George and Sandra, desperately begging Elaine to speak on their behalf and convince her parents to help:

Elaine kept mocking him. "Help Bianca with Sandra You really don't know what kind of history I have with her, do you? You might've been fooled by her, but Bianca is the mastermind behind everything.

"She's far from mnocent. I'd love nothing more than for her to be humiliated and suffer. And now you want me to help her get adopted! You should be more like Calvin and go back to popping some brain pills- you're clearly not all there.

Jepson, his voice cracking, muttered, "I get it."

Before he could say anything more, the phone was suddenly snatched from Elaine's hand-George was on the line.

"You don't know a damn thing George's temper flared, and he bluntly cut in. Jepson, stop trying to guilt- trip my daughter. If you want to get in good with our family, talk to me and Sandra. Why are you bothering my daughter? You think she has no one to protect her?

"People like you and Bianca are nothing but ingrates, and we don't want anything to do with you. You'd better drop it. If your family's falling apart and your brother's going to prison, don't think you can come crawling back to us now. It's a little late for that, don't you think?"

Jepson was blindsided by George's words. Being called "shameless" by him made his face burn even more.

"George...

"Don't call me. It's disgusting.

Jepson didn't respond. After George hung up, he could only let out a long sigh.

George put the phone down and said to Elaine, "Alright, Elaine, if he ever calls again, just tell me or your

mom. We'll handle it. This shameless guy really has no boundaries. He thinks he can get us to treat him like family? He's dreaming.

Elaine nodded. "Okay."

Meanwhile, Jepson, having been hung up on, was left staring at the phone in frustration. Bianca immediately rushed over to ask what happened.

When she heard that George had outright rejected their attempt to connect, telling them there was no way

she'd ever be accepted as a daughter, Bianca felt like her world was crashing down.

"What now? Is there any way we can still get Calvin out?"

Jepson sighed, "I don't know."

The siblings were both trapped in a sense of hopelessness.

Back in the prison, Calvin was reeling from the realization that his sentence might be a reality.

He had never imagined he'd end up like this.

All he'd wanted was to teach Elaine a lesson, not to end up in prison.

He was still so young-how could he spend his life behind bars?

Just as he was about to call his family for help. Elaine came to see hin

"Elaine'

Elaine sat down and looked at him, her eyes devoid of any sympathy.

"Are you here to laugh at me?"

Elaine shook her head. "You're mistaken. I don't have time for that. I'm here to tell you the truth." Calvin's face twisted in confusion. "What truth?"

Elaine replied coldly. "You know why you're in here, don't you? It all goes back to Lento University's anniversary, when Bianca told you to set a trap for me, right?"

Calvin's face tightened. "So what? I never intended to ruin your reputation. We just wanted to create a false impression, let you feel what it's like to have your name tarnished."

Elaine's eyes narrowed. "Oh! That's what Bianca told you? Did you know she actually bribed that man to drug me? She genuinely wanted to ruin me. And if things got out of hand, you were supposed to take the fall for her.

"Calvin, you never saw it coming, did you? You thought you were doing Bianca a favor, but she wanted you to carry the label of a rapist.

"That's why you're sitting in here now."
