Chapter 23: Decisions

When we arrived at the mansion when we got out of the limo, Leila stood there staring at the mansion, it was like she couldn’t even move her body. She looked it up and down and her jaw dropped. I saw the look on her face and said, “I know how you feel, I felt the same way when John brought me here,” I laughed.

“I seriously can’t believe this right now! I’m actually standing in front of a mansion,” Leila replied.

“I felt the same way girl,” I said.

“You’re so lucky to have all of this!” Leila said.

“Thanks! I was lucky when I bumped into John. I never thought I’ d be living like this!” I replied.

“Damn, I want this life,” Leila whispered

“You can have it! You just have to decide whether you want to stay in Nebraska or move!” I replied.

“I know, I know. While I’m here I’m going to look for a job. I’m not sure what I’ll be good at though?” Leila said.

“I’ll help you after the fashion show. You can even stay with us until you find a place if you want to make that decision to move,” I said in a calm voice.

“Really? OMG. That is very kind of you. I’ll think about it while I’m here!” Leila said.

Grabbing her arm and running inside the mansion, Leila couldn’t believe this was real. I’m showing her the whole mansion and when we went outside on the patio, by the built–in pool, she suddenly stopped dead in her tracks, I looked at her and asked her what was wrong?

“Leila, what’s wrong?” I asked.

“OMG, nothing. I have never been in a mansion before and this place is absolutely beautiful! I can’t believe I’m standing inside a mansion!” Leila replied.

“Oh my gosh, I thought something was wrong when you stopped and just stood there!” I said.

“Oh, no. I’m sorry it was just shocking to me, that’s all,” Leila laughs.

We sat on the patio for a while catching up, John’s maid brought us out a margarita and a bit to eat, we Italian–made sandwiches with chips and dip. After we finished eating we changed into our bathing suits and went swimming! It’s a hot, blistering day out, we were sweating and I figured doing some laps in the pool will help me to prepare for this show!

We swam for about an hour and got out of the pool because John will be coming home from work. I’m going to ask him if he wants to go out on the town and show Leila how New York lives the nightlife! Leila wants to go out, she’s thinking about looking into a bartending job, but she has to make the decision of moving here, first.

The first place we took Leila was Times Square. At night it’s so beautiful with all of the buildings lit up and you see so many billboards just screaming with pictures of famous people

showing on them. So many people walk the streets here, it’s unbelievable how all the cars must wait for the streets to become clear for them. We went to see: Madison Square Garden, NBC, and The Museum of Modern Art. There’s so much to do in NY that we didn’t have enough time to see everything. We got a bite to eat and then went back home, I must get some rest to prepare for my show coming up.

THE NEXT MORNING:

My babe already left for work, he has much work to do before the “Big Show“. I’m sure he’s nervous about me being in his show since this is my very first show ever! But I’m not going to let him down! I’m going to win this show and show the world what I can do!

Before leaving for work, Leila and I talked for a bit.

“What are you going to do today?” Leila asked me.

“I’m going to work to prepare for this show, I’m very nervous about it, so I must do all I can to prepare for it. What are your plans for today?” I asked.

“I’m going to go out looking for a job. I love it here and I made my decision,” Leila replied.

“Oh, what’s that?” I said.

“I’m going to move here and I’m not going to let anyone stop me from moving here. You really made me realize how different life can be if you do what you want and not what others want you to do,” Leila said.

“OMG, Leila, I’m so happy for you! I’d love for you to live here! Go

down to the Hard Rock Cafe and talk to Haley, she will get you a job there!” I said.

“Really? Do you really think so?” Leila asked.

“Yes. I’ll send her a text and tell her that you’re coming then I’ll text you after I talk with her!” I replied.

Leaving in a flash, I had to get to the office because I’m running late and Brad hates that! He has much to prepare for the show also. I quickly told Leila that I’ll talk to her later. While on my way to the office, I texted Haley and told her that my friend, Leila will be in to put in her application for a job, then I asked her if she would hire her? I gave her a bit of a background on Leila and mentioned that I’ve known her for a very long time and I think she will be one great employee.

Arriving at the office, I jumped out of the limo since I’m running a bit late and ran into Brad’s photo room.
