CHAPTER 9

ANNABELLE

I felt warm in his embrace as he carried me up the stairs until we reached the room assigned to me the night before.

He opened the door and gently placed me on the bed, making me feel a bit awkward. being alone with him in my room.

“I’m sorry…” he apologized, holding my palm apologetically.

I smiled weakly, knowing full well it was not his fault. The Luna was a strict perfectionist who wanted only the best for her son.

I couldn’t blame her because if I were the Luna, I wouldn’t allow my precious son to mingle with the likes of me either.

The door to my room opened after a slight knock, and Omega May entered with a tray of food.

“Great. Pass it to me.” Alpha Derek collected the tray of food from Omega May and placed it on his lap.

“You may go,” he dismissed her, and I felt awkward and nervous around him once

more.

I sat up and tried to take the tray of hot food from his lap, but he held my hands still, stopping me.

“I’ll feed you. I just want you to relax,” he said, but I couldn’t relax when I was alone with him in an enclosed room while his fiancée and his vicious mother were just rooms

away.

He opened the plate, and steam rose out, showing that the porridge was really hot. He scooped a little portion with a golden spoon, bringing it forward to my mouth.

“Please, Alpha Derek, I can take care of myself…” I tried to take the spoon from him, but he held my hand still, pushing the porridge closer to my mouth.

I shook my head and turned my mouth to the side, clearly showing my disapproval,

Binking he would relem and let me have my tear. But the next thing he did shocked

He grabbed my waist until I was seated on his lap, my eyes widening in shock at what he had just done.

“Will you open your mouth, or do you want to know what I might do next if you don’t?” he asked with a strange look on his face, a look filled with intense passion and desire. I gulped and then opened my mouth, scared of what he might do if I disobeyed his

request agam.

“Good girl. But I would have loved it if you disobeyed….” He winked and then scooped another portion of the porridge and fed me. He continued until the plate of delicious porridge was empty.

I tried to stand up from his lap, but his strong grasp on my waist told me otherwise.

“Let’s stay like this…” he whispered, his minty breath brushing my exposed shoulder.

I felt uncomfortable, awkward, and nervous. My heart thumped wildly in my chest at our close proximity.

He pulled me closer so that my breasts pressed against his chest as he looked straight at me. The look in his eyes was a little too intense for my liking. I knew what this look meant, and it made my heartbeat increase.

I wasn’t ready for it.

I wasn’t ready for anything intimate yet, but did I have a choice? He bought me for that, so if he wanted to have me right now, I had no say about it… I would just have to accept it…

He noticed my discomfort, which made him soften his hold on me, and he cleared his throat.

“Uhm… You should rest.” He cleared his throat again, nudging me to climb back into bed. “I’ll come check up on you later.” I felt relieved when he gave me the approval to get back into bed, and I scurried off immediately. He noticed that my cheeks were as red as a tomato, which made him chuckle a little.

“Before I forget, Anne…”

A blush crept up my cheeks again at the mention of my nickname from his mouth.

“There will be a party tonight, and you’re invited.”

“A party?”

“Yeah… Mother wants to… uhm… she wants to.” I almost laughed at the embarrassed look on his face, making me curious as to what the party was about.

“To what?” I didn’t know when I voiced my thoughts.

“Just come. When you come, you’ll know.”

“But… I don’t have anything to wear, so I don’t think I can come. You might as well tell me what the party is about.”

“If it’s about what you have to wear, don’t worry about that. I’ll sort it out because you must come.” He said, and I laughed. He laughed too, but our laughter was stifled when we caught sight of Lady Emily just by the door.

Alpha Derek took that as a sign to leave my room. “I’ll come check up on you later, Anne…” He winked one more time before leaving my room, I

It was only after he had left and my cheeks were hurting that I realized I had been smiling the whole time we conversed.

**3RD POV**

Lady Emily searched around for Derek but didn’t find him until she heard his voice coming from inside Annabelle’s room. She stopped in her tracks.

She gently opened the door, and her heart twisted when she caught them laughing animatedly with each other.

She felt tears pricking her eyes, and when they noticed her peeking, they immediately stopped their laughter, which hurt her even more.

She excused herself and waited for Alpha Derek outside the room. When Alpha Derek came out, she didn’t hesitate to speak her mind.

“Derek, what did I do to deserve this kind of treatment?”

When he left, an evil smirk grew on Lady Emily’s face.

“You prefer her to me, right? Let me see if you still will after I’m done with her. Annabelle, you’ll regret ever making Derek choo
