Behind The Alpha Series Book 6 Oliver

Chapter 41

(Chapter song ‘Brain Stew' by Green Day)

GRAHAM

I blink and look around like I just had a door opened in my head. I’m standing in my living room, but…

Squinting, I try to see, but the world is a big blur.

I make out my bathroom and head that way. I trip on something and look down at it. I don’t remember…

I get to the bathroom and open the door. I search the counter, knocking over bottles. My head is fucking pounding. I feel like I’ve been through a meat grinder.

I find my spare glasses and put them on my eyes. The mirror in front of me comes into focus. Fuck, I LOOK like I’ve been through a meat grinder. What the hell did I do last night?

I clean up and walk out. My jaw hits the floor. The entire living room is covered in clothes, beer bottles and garbage.

“What the hell?!” I flop my hands down by my sides.

I tilt my head to the island. I walk over and there’s a note on the island. My mouth goes small and I turn my head slightly to the side as I keep a distance from it like it’s going to eat me.

“No. I don’t want to know.” I hold up my hands and turn away. I stop, press my lips together and turn back. I pick up the paper and take a deep breath. I adjust my glasses and start to read.

‘Hey, buddy.

Listen. Sorry about the hangover. We’re out of beer.”

I raise my head. “What?” I spin around and open the fridge. I shake my head and motion to the empty fridge. “Great. Just fucking perfect.” I take an even deeper breath and read.

‘Now, you’re probably pissed and that’s OK. Oh…I don’t know if you've seen her yet. Her name is Shirley and she gives great…well, you'll find out if your smart. Since you’re a nerdy professor, I would think you were. Anyway, had to fly. Got places to go. We'll do this again real soon. -G-'

I shake my head. “No. No don’t do this again.”

‘P.S. If anyone asks you have a permit. Chow!’

“Permit for what?” My brows cinch together and a soft coo comes from my room.

I pad across the floor and push my door open. There’s a naked back in my bed. I look down and see I’m in my boxers. “Oh God.”

A crash came from upstairs in my office. My head whips to the ceiling.

I swallow as I climb the stairs. More crashes come from behind the door. I walk to the door and put my ear to it. There’s something in there alright.

I place my hand on the handle, unsure if I even want to know.

I turn the handle and open the door. I slowly poke my head in. “Hello?”

My face fills with disbelief as I open the door all the way.

He yells from on top of my desk. I tremble as I look at the note. I nod at the word permit. There’s words on the other side.

I flip the note over.

‘P.P.S. He’s very friendly. His name is Marvin. He likes corn dogs and hugs.

Have fun!’

I drop the note and raise my eyes to the large chimpanzee in duck pajama pants, eating a corn dog on my desk.

I wrap my arm around my waist and rub my face resting my chin on my hand. Marvin does a face palm and laughs at me. He then opens one of my biology texts books, sticks the corndog in it and smashes it into the pages. All while laughing his monkey ass off.

“Graham?”

I jump out of my skin, slam the door and put my back on it. Marvin slams the door and tries to open it. I grip the handle and stop him.

I scan the very pretty Asian beauty in front me, wrapped in my sheet and swallow. My brows cinch together in confusion.

“Kita?” I eye her up and down.

“What's that?” She motions to the door as Marvin fights me.

“Nothing.” He pulls and I slam it shut. I push my glasses up. “A-A practical joke. What the hell?” I struggle to put a hand out to her.

She crosses her arms and smirks. “You tell me, professor.” She bounces her brows.

My face falls as the ethics commission runs through my head. “I’m so fucked.”
