Chapter 1572
Chapter 1572: The Issue of Principle
After a moment of contemplation, Selena stared into Eden's eyes. "Is there anything else besides this?" she asked.
Eden shook his head honestly. Ever since Selena told him he could help her find her father, Eden had been trying to remember his
past experiences. He couldn't recall much, but he had a feeling that a voice had told him to follow Selena...
Selena stared at Eden motionlessly and suddenly spoke up. "Joanna, can you and Leia step out for a moment?"
Joanna glanced at Selena before standing up and leaving the lab with Leia in tow. There was no danger in the lab, so Leia
obediently followed her master.
Now only three people remained in the meeting room.
Selena looked at Eden and spoke softly. "Did that voice say to follow ‘Selena’ or 'my daughter'?"
Eden looked at Selena strangely as he scratched his head and thought carefully for stbefore answering uncertainly, "I
don't know... but I think it meant forto follow you."
Selena gazed into Eden's clear eyes; this child didn't understand social norms very well and relied more on intuition when making
decisions.
She also remembered how whenever Eden saw her, he instinctively felt close to her - his gaze was deep. "If I wasn't my father's
daughter or the person who taught you medicine's daughter... would you still want to follow me?" she asked.
Eden nodded without hesitation."It would still be you," he said firmly before adding confidently,"It has always been you."
Selena suddenly closed her eyes. At this moment, even she began to doubt whether she really had any relationship with Callum.
Despite Selena being his biological daughter and having exceptional medical talent, why did that voice make Eden follow her?
Selena's doubts grew more and more, but the information she had couldn't provide any useful insights. She could only put it aside
for now.
The plan to leave Eden in the capital was now ruined.
Selena stood up and said, "White Crow, Black Crow, keep an eye on him and help him pack."
This meant bringing Eden back to the empire with them.
White Crow wasn't surprised by this decision but as Selena prepared to leave he suddenly spoke up. "Your Majesty, we're all here. It
might not be appropriate for no one to oversee the empire."
Selena frowned at his words. She too had considered this issue before.
She wanted Stanley to return to the empire but he stubbornly refused.
Seeing his determination Selena didn't want to force him so she let it go. "Father is watching over the empire; Lillian just returned
after a year away plus there's trouble with Beatrice right now," Selena quickly analyzed the situation. "After 'Sacred Pearl" is
resolved I'll return hso don't worry too much for now."
After speaking Selena turned around and left.
White Crow frowned.
Queen Selena is incredibly intelligent, but when it comes to emotions, she's quite slow. But we can't blher. She was raised
with the belief that emotions should never cloud one's judgment.
If it weren't for Osvaldo, Selena might have never realized what love truly feels like.
Selena hadn't noticed his hints... White Crow thought of Stanley's personality and felt helpless.
Black Crow sat silently on the side, content to leave all questions about Stanley to his older brother.
White Crow rubbed his forehead in frustration. "Stanley will definitely try to sabotage their relationship... and Selena will be caught
in the middle."
Black Crow remained expressionless and didn't offer an opinion.
Stanley was a master at playing with people's hearts. Despite being gentle and chivalrous around Selena, doing good deeds wasn't
exactly his forte. His instinct was to find a way to win back Selena.
However, both brothers had already caused him trouble before; they couldn't add fuel to the fire now by acting against their
conscience.
They could only pretend not to know anything about it.
Selena had no idea that her brothers were worried about her love life. After leaving Capital University, she went straight home
without realizing that Osvaldo had returned earlier than expected and was waiting for her in the living room.
Selena walked up to the sofa and naturally sat in Osvaldo's arms, embracing his slender neck and gently advising, "There's a
powerful figure coming to the capital. Don't go out these next few days." Although she guessed that the other "Sacred Pearl"
wasn't in Lillian's hands, nothing was absolute. Selena didn't want to risk Osvaldo's safety.
Osvaldo kissed her forehead and his deep voice sounded particularly hoarse. "Nothing will happen."
Watching Osvaldo look so confident, Selena suddenly had a thought. "Has Dante researched 'Sacred Pearl?"
Dante had been at Lab 717 for many years and had a close relationship with Osvaldo...
Looking at the man's exquisite and handsface, Selena suddenly felt that this man holding her had an indescribable depth.
"Dante has never been mentally stable," Osvaldo tightened his grip on Selena's hand with a hint of coldness in his eyes. "After
what happened back then, although he found what he called his 'savior," his illness only got worse."
Now it seemed like a signal.
Why would mental illness worsen even after getting your favorite person?
It could only be because... that person wasn't truly able to make him feel happy.
Constance also had flaws.
But because Dante needed Constance to save him, even though they knew she wasn't sincere, neither of them delved deeper into
it.
As a result, Kyra suffered tragically later on.
Selena played with Osvaldo's beautiful Adam's apple with her slender fingers but didn't say anything about Dante's problem.
Osvaldo understood his little wife well enough to know that asking her to send Kyra back due to Dante's serious illness was
impossible.
On matters of principle, even Osvaldo couldn't force Selena to compromise.
Of course, if Kyra wanted to cback on her own, Selena wouldn't interfere.
Osvaldo looked at the young girl playing with his Adam's apple seriously and smiled. His low voice becmore charming. "Dante
studied the Sacred Pearl, but he hasn't succeeded yet because of that woman."
"But Dante didn't leave empty-handed. Give him another year and maybe the structure of the Sacred Pearl won't be a secret in his
eyes."
Selena raised an eyebrow but wasn't surprised.
It had been five years since she created the Sacred Pearl.
In any field, five years could change so much.
The speed of technological development was always faster than anyone could imagine.
Once mountains stood tall; now they were plains as far as one could see.
In this world, there was nothing eternal except for human emotions and celestial bodies.
