Arrogant Man VS Unyielding Woman

Chapter 433 Keep Stalking

Hearing Zed's words, Jean felt relaxed at once. On the other hand, a sweet smile appeared on Jean's face. "You are so bad! How can you tease me like that?" she asked, feigning anger. "Believe me, I didn't mean to do that. You didn't hear me and was busy getting anxious. You can't blame me for that, honey," Zed said with a naughty smile on his face.

"You did it on purpose. You stopped speaking so as to see me getting anxious." Jean snorted, pretending to be displeased.

As a matter of fact, Zed indeed did it deliberately as he wanted to watch Jean get worried about his feelings for her.

At the moment, Zed put on a big smile as he reached out his hand and gently rubbed Jean's long hair.

It was already midnight when they arrived home.

Moore was not in the living room at the time so they figured he might have fallen asleep upstairs.

Therefore, Zed and Jean slowed down their pace and walked quietly to their bedroom.

All of a sudden, a sharp ringtone rang loudly from the living room. They had almost reached their room but stopped on hearing it.

Feeling stunned, Zed and Jean exchanged a look and went back downstairs helplessly.

"It's your fault. We all have cell phones nowadays. Why is there a need to place a phone in the living room? I've never heard it ring before. I thought it was for the decoration," Jean said in a low voice looking annoyed.

"Why would anyone keep a phone for decoration!" Zed responded feeling appalled by her thoughts.

Zed and Jean were lost in their bickering, but the phone was still ringing. Unable to take it anymore, Zed went near and took a look at the number that was displayed. His earlier expression was gone and now he looked serious.

Noticing the difference in Zed's expression, Jean looked worried. "What's wrong? Who's that?" she asked anxiously.

"It is Joy," Zed replied with a hint of helpless in his eyes.

"What? Joy?" Jean was surprised and had her eyes wide open. She couldn't help but ask, "She has my number, doesn't she? If she is calling for help then why isn't she calling me directly? What's the point of calling in this phone placed in our living room?" As Jean went on putting forward her doubts, the ringtone stopped suddenly. The room fell into its earlier silence.

"Who knows? But I still think that she didn't call us with good intentions." Zed shrugged as he replied. According to him, Joy's calls were always a bad sign.

"Let's go upstairs and have some rest. Don't mind her," Jean said as she didn't want to waste any time brooding over it. Quickly she held Zed's hand and pulled him with her.

Zed looked at Jean and gave a sigh. "What if she was calling for something serious? Then she'll definitely call again."

"I have a solution for that." After saying that, she walked back to the place where the phone was kept and unplugged it. Looking satisfied with herself, Jean flashed a proud smile to Zed. "I'm so sleepy. We really need to have some rest," Jean reminded wanting Zed to follow her to the bedroom.

Once again she held Zed's hand and yawned as she walked upstairs.

Seeing Jean's reaction, Zed stood dumbfounded. He didn't know how to react.

'Jean is getting more and more naughty.

How can she be so cool? Isn't she afraid that Joy might come over and look for us?' Zed wondered.

All he wanted was to get over with it through phone rather than see Joy again. He hated it when Jean was near her.

With no choice, he finally gave up. After reaching their bedroom, they both took turns and had a bath. Before falling asleep, they chatted and had a good time.

After all, they had a tough time and needed some time to relax.

When Jean woke up, the sun had risen up high in the sky. Checking the time, she realized it was not as late as the time she woke up yesterday. Jean stretched out her arms and felt the normalcy of life return. The problem with Joy and Shirley felt like the past to her. She glanced to the side where Zed slept and noticed it was empty. Getting off the bed, Jean washed herself up and went downstairs.

Moore was reading newspaper, sitting on the couch. As soon as he saw Jean walk down the stairs, he lifted the corner of his lips and said, "You're up?"

"Where's Zed?" she asked immediately. In truth, Jean was used to waking up alone as Zed used to be at work every time she woke up. But Jean still couldn't help but ask about his whereabouts.

"He went to the company," Moore replied. "He said that he has to continue the work he left behind yesterday. So he'll come back home a little late today. He also mentioned not to wait for him to have the dinner."

"Okay." Jean sat down on the couch with a low spirit. She couldn't help but yawn as she leaned back onto the couch.

"What's the matter? Do you still want to have some rest?" Moore asked looking concerned. Jean seemed to be in a bad mood and her face was extremely pale.

"I'm all right. I can't sleep any more Moore. If I do then I won't be any different from a pig who only knows to sleep." Jean tried to cheer herself up but her body remained deeply sunk in the soft couch.

"Go have some breakfast! You'll feel stronger after intaking some energy," Moore suggested while he flashed her a smile.

"Sure." Upon hearing what Moore said, Jean nodded and started to walk towards the dining room.

She was a little strengthless but when she saw the delicious breakfast, she cheered up.

Just like what Moore had said, Jean felt a lot better after eating the breakfast.

With her stomach full, Jean regained her spirit and energy.

She was totally different from the sulky Jean that conversed with Moore a few minutes ago.

Noticing Jean's difference, Moore felt much better. "Jean, I heard that you work at a shooting company. Is that right?"

"Yeah, but I just decided to resign today. As you know, I'm the nominal CEO of the Wen Group now. So there's a lot of work that's waiting for me to deal with. I haven't gone to the company ever since the video incident. I think I should go to say goodbye today." Jean looked at Moore and put on a bitter smile.

"You fool..." Moore couldn't help but feel pity for her. "You don't have to carry so many responsibilities. Zed told me this morning about your conversation with Henry yesterday evening. I think you can just leave the Wen Group. Henry was so heartless and you are not obliged to do anything for him."

"Moore, I have my plan so don't worry about me." Jean didn't want to talk much to Moore about it and he got the signal.

"Oh, I almost forgot to mention that Leo called yesterday," Moore suddenly said, looking at Jean.

"Leo? It has been a long time since I heard his name. I almost forget about the issue until you mentioned it." Hearing Moore's words, a new curiosity entered Jean's mind. She continued to ask with a smile on her face, "What did he say?"

"Leo said that the person he was following has disappeared. He can't seem to find that person and it has been a few days now. So Leo guessed that he might have gone abroad or something like that." With frowned eyebrows, Moore explained the mysterious story to Jean.

"Okay." Jean nodded. After thinking for a while, she continued, "I think that he might be plotting a new plan. What's your opinion? Do you think he'll leave H City?"

Moore shook his head immediately and replied with a firm look, "No, he won't."

"Then tell Leo to keep stalking. There must be something wrong since he disappeared suddenly," Jean said with a serious look on her face.

"You are right. I agree with you." Moore nodded in agreement. "I have told Leo to keep following that person and inform us once he finds out something."
