Arrogant Man VS Unyielding Woman

Chapter 413 I Will Definitely Take Revenge From Them

Without having any new response from the other side of the phone for quite a while, something popped into Zed's mind and an understanding smile appeared on his face. He said, "Well, if you want to continue pleading for Shirley Wen, I have no other choice but to stay in the company for a few days. And I won't come back until you think it is over. Lately, you know, we've been arguing about the matters of the Wen family, and I am really tired of this......"

All of a sudden, Henry panicked at Zed's words. He hung up the phone quickly with his trembling finger and looked at Jean with a complex look on his face.

Seeing Henry hang up the phone hastily without saying a word, a surprised look came over Jean's face. She fixed her eyes on him and asked, "Father, what did Zed say?" "No...... nothing......" replied Henry with a flushed face. Quickly, he added, "Since he refuses to help, we'll try another way."

Seeing Henry's reaction, Jean let out a sigh. "What else can we do? The only way now is to raise money from the Wen Group. Otherwise, there is no other way out of this mess! Father, you have to make your decision as soon as possible. The kidnappers only gave us three days to prepare the ransom money. It is the second day today. So if you keep delaying like this, I'm afraid that Shirley's safety......" Jean stopped and flashed a quick glance at Henry's expression.

She paused on purpose, pretending to be sad.

Henry's heart strongly ached at Jean's words. He knew she had a point and was speaking the truth. Letting out a heavy sigh, he said, "Fine, let's go with your plan. You go ahead and sell the shares of the Wen Group and raise the money to save Shirley as soon as possible."

"Father, there are only two days left and the amount of money we need is so large. People will know our dilemma as soon as we start to sell our shares. Under the circumstance, there is a chance for the stock price to go down..." Jean analyzed the current situation perplexedly.

"I know, but we have no other choice now. Just raise the money, no matter how low the price is," replied a pale-looking Henry. He waved at Jean and added, "Hurry up! Jean." Taking a moment, he continued, "You know, if the same accident happened to you, I would have definitely saved you, no matter what the cost is. No hesitancy would have been shown from my side."

A faint sneer crossed her face. But soon, she put on a sweet smile on her face and replied, "I see, father. I will try my best to do it. You just have a good rest here and wait for the good news!"

"Well, I'm sure I can trust you with the Wen Group. Now go ahead!" Henry said to Jean and waited for her to get the work started.

"Alright, I'm leaving now," replied Jean with a smile on her face. Then she turned and walked towards the door.

After walking for a while, Jean got into the car, in which Toby had been waiting for her. And there came Zed's call. "How are the things going? Has Henry made his decision yet?" enquired Zed. "Well, it is the only choice he has right now. Since you have refused to lend him any money, he is out of options," replied Jean sounding victorious.

Hearing Jean's words, Zed suddenly let out a heavy sigh. He consoled her lovingly, "I thought Henry would at least consider your feelings since he has made you in charge of the Wen Group, but I was wrong about this. It turns out that he still cares about Shirley Wen the most, even though she has let him down and betrayed him. He seems to be determined to save her life." Zed sounded sad for his wife.

"Zed, let's not think about it anymore. I'm on my way to the Wen Group. And I'm going to hold a board meeting to sell out the shares of the Wen Group. Do you have any interests in it?" asked Jean. She was bitterly disappointed in Henry. Yet she did not want to waste any more time feeling sorry for herself. With a different turn in her thoughts, there was a shift in her feelings.

"Well, before you tell me this, I've got my finance department ready for the cash. And I'm going to go after the Wen Group's shares," replied Zed with a smile on his face. He then added, "As for my own dear wife, Jean, I will definitely take revenge from them for what they have put you through."

"Actually, I didn't consider taking over the Wen Group," said Jean. She let out a sigh and continued, "Since he has gone this far, I'll leave him with no mercy this time."

"Well, you shouldn't have been softhearted to people like them. You've been with them for more than twenty years. You had enough time to see their true colors. Jean, just start doing what you really want. Also, you need to know that I have got your back," reminded Zed, trying to put her into a better mood.

"All right," replied Jean with a smile. Her face suddenly glowed and she forgot all about her problems. "I'm so happy to have such a powerful husband like you. Zed, thank you so much for your care and love!"

"You little fool, I will always be there for you and you don't need to thank me for that. Call me if you need any help," said Zed.

"Yes, I will." With that, she hung up the phone.

After a hasty commute, Jean was back at the Wen Group and she started to prepare for the board meeting with the directors.

At the meeting, she told the directors about Shirley's accident. Slowly, she informed them about her current serious situation.

Before finishing, she asked everyone if they would like to buy out the Wen Group's shares. The catch was that they would get it ten percent lower than the market value.

"But if you don't want to buy the shares, I have no other choice but to sell the shares to the public in order to raise enough money to save Shirley's life," she said, looking serious.

As Jean told her decision to them, all of the shareholders looked at each other in a speechless despair. The expressions on their faces were hard to read.

The current situation of the Wen Group was really not as optimistic as it used to be. And because of the news of Henry's poor health, the condition of the company deteriorated even further.

Hearing that the Wen family had to sell the shares to raise money for saving Shirley Wen's life, the shareholders realized the Wen family was in a bad situation. They were not fools and clearly understood how miserable their lives were.

In spite of Jean's words, no one dared to come forward to buy out the shares of the Wen Group. They sat in silence and watched each other.

In fact, several shareholders had been thinking about selling their shares earlier and were planning on leaving the Wen Group.

At the end of the meeting, every shareholder made a gesture towards Jean and then left with a sad look on their faces.

After all, under the leadership of Henry, the Wen Group used to develop rapidly. Back then, their shares of the Wen Group had been growing a lot in terms of value. The money of their annual bonus was enough to live a decent life. In fact, they had enough for their wives to squander outside.

However, it never occurred to any of them that in a matter of 6 months, the Wen Group would end up being so miserable.

All of the shareholders left with a sigh of disappointment. They even noticed Joy outside the meeting room. She was in a flurry but they only left hurriedly without expressing their concerns to her.

Joy walked into the office and saw that Jean was holding her head in her hands with a worried look on her face. Seeing her, Joy turned and couldn't help feeling worried in her heart. "Jean......" cried Joy.

Hearing Joy's cry, Jean hastily turned and looked up at Joy. There was a troubled look etched on her face.

"How are things going now?" asked Jean. Thinking more, she added, "Did the kidnappers call again?"

"Yes, they did. And that's why I came to you," replied Joy quickly.

"What did they say this time?" Jean asked in a concerned tone and had a frown on her face.

Moreover, she felt more anxious when she heard that there was another call from the kidnappers. Everything was happening so quickly and she didn't have a proper plan yet. They had come to an agreement with the kidnappers and according to it, they had to give the money before they could have Shirley back.

'How dare the kidnappers call again at such a crucial time? Aren't they afraid that we've called the police and the police might trace them?' wondered Jean internally feeling disturbed.

"They called to threaten me again. Also, they warned me what would happen if they didn't get the money on time. Lastly. they told me to speed up on raising the money because the deadline is sharp six o'clock tomorrow morning. Otherwise, they are going to hurt Shirley," cried a pale Joy.

"They want the money early now?" exclaimed Jean with her eyebrows knitted.

"Have you discussed it with Henry today?" asked Joy. Noticing that Jean really meant to figure out a way to save Shirley, Joy felt relieved in her heart.

"I did talk with him instead I talked him into it. That's why I held this meeting with the board of directors just now. It was to make sure if there is anyone who wants to buy the Wen Group's shares. Unfortunately, no one is willing to do so. It looks like we have no other choice but to sell out our shares. And I'm really worried about that. I mean, those who know about our situation might take advantage of this and lower the prices for their own benefit....."

"But we have to do that, no matter how low the price is," Joy replied hastily before Jean could finish her words. And Joy added, "Jean, we have to hurry up because we are running out of time."000000
