Arrogant Man VS Unyielding Woman

Chapter 398 You Get Out Of Here

Jean paused for a moment. "I am unable to believe that Zed can't understand about Jesse's feelings for him. How he manages to do well in his work life is way beyond me. I just hope his IQ is better than his EQ. Anyway, I don't have enough energy to make this work. Explaining to him tires me. I do want to have a good rest and to calm myself down. So I am keeping myself away from it for a moment. However, he won't leave me alone even for a little while. How can I go on and live with him under the circumstance? What do you think?" questioned Jean with helplessness written all over her face.

Hearing Jean's words in a sad tone, Toby moved his lips and wanted to explain that Zed wasn't such a bad guy. But with bunch of thoughts on his mind, he finally repressed himself from pouring them out. His thoughts took a different turn and there was a complex look on his face. He then said,"Mrs. Jean, as Mr. Zed's employee, I shouldn't comment that much on this issue. But after your words, I have a strong feeling that there must be some misunderstanding between you and Mr. Zed." I

"Misunderstandings?" asked Jean. She let out a burst of sarcastic laughter before she continued. "I know it is your job to stand up for him. But you can take a break here, in front of me."

"No, I am not doing my job, instead I am speaking the truth," replied Toby sounding undisturbed with Jean's accusations. He took a quick glance at Jean from the rear-view mirror to see her reaction. "As you know, Mr. Zed and Miss Tang grew up together since their childhood so they have a very good relationship with each other. But what you might not know is that Miss Tang had once saved Mr. Zed's life. And this is the reason why Mr. Zed always takes her side. He will forever be thankful to her for what she did," said Toby in a convinced tone.

"What? What are you talking about?" Jean asked immediately in a surprised tone. Still shocked, she was now looking at Toby's back with her eyes widened.

Detecting Jean's amazement in her voice, Toby could feel her feelings easily at this moment. And that was when he realized that she still cared about Zed in her heart. This realization brought a sense of comfort in his mind. After clearing his throat, he started to continue with the story. "Mr. Zed has been brilliant and outstanding since he was a child which caused a lot of jealousy and resentments from people around him.

At the age of ten, Mr. Zed refused to stand aside when he saw a big boy, who was three years older than him, bully a little girl. Unable to take the bullying, he beat that guy up pretty badly. Unexpectedly, that big boy secretly planned revenge for this humiliation. He couldn't get over the knowledge that he was publicly beaten up by Zed who was younger than him in age and size. That big boy pretended to be sorry in front of Mr. Zed. Later, they became friends and he deliberately led Mr. Zed to a reservoir without anyone else but the two of them. He knew well that Mr. Zed could not swim so he pushed Mr. Zed into the water when Mr. Zed was not paying attention. After that, the big boy left the area. Fortunately, Miss Tang had followed Mr. Zed to the reservoir. And she risked her life to save him after she saw what was happening. By then, Mr. Zed was gasping of breath. Hence he owes his life to Miss Tang. So, Mr. Zed is very grateful to Miss Tang and has always been tolerant of her. Everyone around Mr. Zed knows about this. So now you know why he is so defensive when it comes to her," Toby finished with a serious look.

"Can't Zed swim?" asked Jean with a frown, finding it hard to believe.

"No, he was not able to swim when the incident happened. In fact, he was afraid of drowning. But, after the incident, Mr. Zed tried his best to overcome his fear and learned to swim. It was Miss Tang who helped him to make it a reality," explained Toby. As Toby was speaking, Jean breathed a sigh of relief and looked out of the window, lost in her thoughts.

At first, she thought Toby was taking Zed's side because he wanted to keep his job. However, after listening to this story, she believed him. She could not think of any reason why she should not believe what Toby had just said.

'So there has been such a story between Zed and Jesse!' Jean thought to herself.

All of a sudden, Jean felt empty at the thought.

'It turns out that they not only have the sentiment of growing up together, but he also owes his life to her. No wonder Zed has been always so tolerant of Jesse!

Everytime we fight, it is almost always about Jesse. Not once did he blame her for anything.

And this is Zed's attitude towards Jesse because he is very grateful to her.

But, Zed......

Letting out a sigh internally, Jean was kind of ashamed for not being nice to Zed earlier. She never thought of his point of view and was always concerned about her own troubles. And now she followed Toby back to Zed's house silently. It was a lively home the day before with Benjamin, Dan and Jesse. But now, in this big house, she felt all alone after Toby left.

Seeing the desolation in front of her, Jean somehow felt lost. She went upstairs to the second floor and walked into her bedroom. Feeling really tired after what she had gone through these days, she quickly shut the door and propped herself on the bed. On the other side, Zed made his way from the airport to the hospital. He went straight to Moore's ward and pushed the door open without hesitation.

By then, Moore was lying on the bed with his eyes closed. After hearing the noise of the door being opened in a hurry, he opened his eyes and saw Zed in front of him. The sight of Zed made Moore's eyes widen. "Mr. Qi? What brought you here?" Moore asked with a shocked look.

Without answering, Zed walked towards Moore's bed. He stared sharply at Moore and said in a cold tone, "You, get out of the hospital and leave H City immediately."

At the sight of Zed, Moore had already realized that it must have something to do with Jean.

Yet Moore did not expect that Zed would ask him to leave the city. This further surprised him. Feeling agitated, Moore raised his eyebrows. "What is the reason for this......"

Moore had wanted to act politely, but after hearing Zed's words, he did not see any reasons for that anymore.

As a matter of fact, they weren't friends or anything. In fact, they knew each other only because of Jean. "Well, I'm afraid that you are responsible for my bad marital relation with Jean......"

replied Zed. He knew Moore was clever enough to understand the hint and Zed didn't wish to explain.

"Marital relation? Mr. Qi, you must be thinking too much! How could I possibly do that?" exclaimed Moore with a sneer. He then continued in a serious tone,"Jean and I are friends, and nothing more. Just cut this thought out of your dirty mind."

"Okay, maybe now you both are nothing but friends. But how can you promise about the future?" questioned Zed in a monotonous tone. Not wanting to waste any time, he flashed Moore a cold glance. "If you do not want to get involved with the Bai family, I advise you to leave at once and never come back," warned Zed in a tone of seriousness.

"Are you threatening me now?" Being morally upright, Moore could not believe what Zed had just said in front of him. His eyes widened every time Zed spoke. Looking at Zed surprisedly, Moore felt ashamed about Zed's character. "Zed Qi, are you threatening me in order to cut my relationship with Jean? Don't you think it is too childish to do this?"

"So what?" Zed retorted back and his anger reached a new level. His face was now fierce and red. "If you don't take my advice and leave for good, I'll make sure you have a miserable life in H City."

For a second, Moore looked at Zed dumbfounded. This level of childishness surprised Moore and nothing that Zed spoke made sense to him. This whole thing made Jean look like a piece of stationery. It seemed like both Moore and Zed were snatching this piece of stationery. And now Zed felt like he was losing, so in order to grab the beloved piece of stationery from Moore, Zed had threatened him using his power.

Feeling ridiculous in his heart, Moore tried to calm himself. He didn't want to cause any trouble for Jean's sake. "I don't care about what is going on in your mind. But Zed, I will have to warn you so that you don't repeat this mistake. Believe it or not, Jean and I are just friends, and nothing more. You have no right to threaten me. Moreover, don't give a bad name to our pure relationship. No matter what you say or do - I will not stop being friends with Jean. Your threatening words won't scare me. So, do whatever you want. I'm not afraid of you," finished Moore, with a victorious look in his eyes.

"Moore Bai, how dare you say so!" shouted Zed. He could not contain his fury any longer when he realized that Moore was completely unaffected by his words. Zed was totally burned up and he looked irritated and defeated. "In that case, you'll soon find out what I can do," shouted Zed.

"Whatever. Now, just get out of here. It's my ward, and you're not welcome here," exclaimed Moore with a look of distaste.

Zed gave Moore a cold look and started to walk towards the door.

As soon as he reached the door, Zed heard Moore's anxious voice. "Wait, now that you came to me, what about Jean? What did you do to her?" asked Moore eagerly.

"It is none of your business. Jean is my wife," Zed replied in a cold tone, staring at Moore angrily. 0000
