Chapter 11
Lorena POV
My hands shook vigorously as I held the daisies. I was able to find them amidst the thorns. At first, I wanted to ignore Madan Ruth, but I had no option but to do her will. I spent hours looking among the thorns searching for the flowers and even whe; Iwas cut and bled tirelessly, I didn't give up and continued searching for Daisies. Giving up is never an option for someone like me, and I wanted to prove the Alpha king wrong.
I wasn't going to let him bully me.
“Hey!” I shouted and hit the door. “I found the daisies!” I announced. “Hey,” I tried to knock yet again, but I was grabbed by one of the hefty guards guarding the door and dragged outside. “What the hell is going on?" I asked him, but instead I was hit at the back of my neck, losing my consciousness in a blink of an eye.
The cold water against my body jerked me out of my sleep and when I opened my eyes, I realized that I was in a room and opposite me was Madam Ruth and two other girls. My eyes wandered around until they landed on the Daisies I had picked among the thorns. They were laying underneath Madam Ruth's legs, and the annoying part was that she kept stomping on the flowers. “What the hell are you doing?” I shouted at them.
“Oh my!" Madam Ruth chuckled and continued stomping on the flowers.
“I bled while picking that up! How could you do this to the flowers?” I retorted.
“You can talk!” Madam Ruth moved closer to me and crouched to my level. She raised her hand and I thought she was about to hit me, but instead, she grabbed a handful of my hair and pulled it pretty hard that I thought the scalp would bleed. Because my hands were tied behind my back, I couldn't do anything but scream. “You are nothing but a slave handed over t “me from the king, and I can do anything that I want with you!"
“If you are going to kill me!” I yelled. “Then kill me first!"
She laughed and pushed my head backwards until my head hit the wall. Bells rang in my ear and I thought my head had spli open until I opened my eyes. “This is..." I heaved a sigh as I tasted blood in my lips. The blood had trailed from my forehead down to my lips. “Doing this only means that you are a fool?” I spat the blood out. “You just want the Werewolves to validate you, and it's so sad to see that you've never received any validation from them yet.” I chuckled. “It is so sad to see you bowing to them!” I tutted.
“You little thing!” She slapped me across the face. “How dare you useless slave call me a puppet!” she grabbed my chin and pushed my head backward. To avoid my head hitting the wall, tilted it to the other side. “I am the one who holds your life right now and since the Alpha says that I can do anything to you then this is my verdict,” Madam Ruth stood up and cleared her throat. “Girls!” She beckoned to the girls to move closer to her. “Take her out of the Mansion into the Woods, where the rogues would feast on her!” She ordered.
At the mention of rogues, my eyes widened because I understood what rogues meant and what they could do. "What..." My voice shakes terribly as I was grabbed by the girls and pushed up. “What the hell are you doing to me!” I shouted at them. “You can't do this to me!” I tried to free myself from the girls, but they held my shoulders, blocking my struggle.
“Of course I can” Madam Ruth clicked her tongue. “I can do whatever I want to you because I am your god!” She laughed like a maniac. “Take her away!”
“Yes ma'am!” The girls bowed their heads and dragged me away forcefully. “Let me go!” I yelled at them. “You can't do this to me!” I cried out.
The girls ignored my screams and dragged me towards the gigantic gate of the Royal mansion. Just as we all walked out of the gate, a sleek black car drove in but stopped at the entrance of the gate. When I saw the brown shoes, I thought it was th Alpha king and was about to lash out on him when I saw his face. He was a different person and unlike the king, he had brown hair and a face tattoo on the right side of his face, giving him the bad boy look. “What is going on here?” They asked him.
When the girls saw him, they quickly bowed their heads. “Your grace,” with the way they respected him, I figured he was someone of importance, and it made me angry. The Werewolves could drive sleek cars, while humans had to walk and toil fc them to have a better life. It drove me to rage, and I clenched my fists when I thought about how they had treated us.
How dare they? I thought.
“Are you okay?" The man asked me, but instead of replying, I sneered at him.
Why should I answer his sarcastic question when he saw me bleeding from every part of my body? I found his question annoying. “If you are not blind, then you shouldn't ask such an obvious answer.” I shouted at him. * Stop acting like you care because you don't” I scoffed and yanked my hand from one of the girls. I kicked the other girl and then made a way for it.
I had gained my freedom, and I wasn't afraid of what was to come. I didn’t want to return to that mansion.
I hated it there.
While thinking about that, I turned back to see the girls and two guards chasing after me while the strange man stared at me I was so focused on looking at them that I didn't realize that a car was heading towards me. I slammed right into it, and I wa: thrown away, landing at the back of the car. I felt my bones crack, bells rang in my ears and my vision became hazy. I whispered a few incoherent words and through my hazy vision, I saw brown shoes heading towards me.
