Chapter AFTER I AMAZED 7
Chapter 7
Emma's typical playful popped up on my phone:
[Are you free? Let's grab a drink.]
Without hesitation, I quickly agreed-I just needed to get away.
"Well, look who's out past curfew! Our perfect Luna making an appearance after dark?"
Emma teased the moment we met.
I grabbed the drink she handed me and downed it in one go, not bothering with a response.
"And what about you? Newly married, yet already hitting the bars again?"
Emma, tipsy and carefree, giggled as she draped an arm around me.
"Not me, Liz. Just because I'm married doesn't mean I can't drink and flirt with all the cute
guys!"
I knew she was just babbling, but a small part of me couldn't help feeling a pang of envy for her carefree spirit. "Okay, okay, call Leo to pick you up. You'll be too drunk to make it home alone, Emma nudged with a smirk.
I stared at my empty glass and mumbled, "He's busy tonight. I'll just head home by myself
later."
Emma paused for a moment, her gaze lingering on me before blurting out, "You know, I liked your old style better."
I glanced down at my formal evening dress. It did look out of place in the bar.
"What do you think? Pretty nice, right?' I asked, half-jokingly.
Emma leaned heavily on me, her words slurring, "Liz, remember when we were the wild rebels of music school? We used to rock those crazy outfits. I remember you were also a race car driver, riding around the track in style." the World the Cold Alpha Regretted

"And look at you now-from head to toe, all polished and perfect."
"A trophy wife," she blurted, almost spitefully. "You've turned into a soulless trophy wife."
I looked at my perfectly styled hair, fitted dress, custom heels and matching jewelry.
I nudged her, laughing lightly.
"Seriously? Isn't that a bit harsh? It's the latest 'rich woman' look, you know."
Emma doubled over with laughter.
"Rich woman? More like a miserable housewife!"
