A Surprising Twist of Fates (Sierra and Theo)

Chapter 119 Trust

Despite his breathtaking looks, Theo's cold expression made it clear—he wasn't someone one could approach easily.

Felicia still preferred Cayden-he might not be as striking as the man ahead, but he was so gentle and warm that it left people at ease.

However, Janice lit up with surprise when she saw Theo, her eyes flashing with delight.

"You guys continue to the cafeteria," she told the group before rushing toward him.

"Felicia," one of the women behind her asked, confused. "Does Janice know that guy?"

"Maybe," Felicia replied dismissively, barely paying attention. She didn't care about any of this—her mind was focused on one thing. She had heard that Cayden and Sierra went to lunch together, making her wish that she could teleport to the cafeteria.

"Theo!" Janice quickly walked up to him, tilting her head to look at him. "What brings you here?"

Theo paused briefly when he saw her. Then, he replied calmly, "I came to check on Aunt Jemima—and I haven't eaten yet."

"I'm heading to lunch too! Let's go together," Janice suggested with a smile. Then, lowering her voice, she continued, "Seriously, my mom is something else. You came all this way to see her, and she didn't even take you out for a real meal? Making you eat at the school cafeteria? Don't worry, though. The food here's actually pretty good. Lunch is on me."

As Theo walked into the restaurant with Janice, his eyes instinctively scanned the crowd. In an instant, he spotted Sierra.

Even with her back turned, he recognized her immediately. That silhouette was etched into his memory, as familiar as breathing.

She sat by the restaurant window across from a bright, good-looking guy. As he chatted with her, his face lit up with a smile.

Theo's gaze locked onto her just as she turned slightly with a smile. She looked happy-too happy. His eyes narrowed, and his expression darkened slightly.

He could see it clearly-Cayden's admiration, the way he looked at Sierra with pure affection.

The guy liked her.

"Theo? Why did you stop?"

Janice noticed Theo suddenly

stopping in his tracks and turned to him in confusion. Seeing that his eyes were locked on something, she followed his gaze-only to spot Sierra. Instantly, her expression hardened.

Then, she saw Cayden sitting across from Sierra, and Felicia's words from earlier flashed through her mind. She had been skeptical before, but now? Now, she believed every word.

A look of disdain crossed her face as she sneered, "Sierra really knows how to play the game. She just got back to school, and she's already throwing herself at Cayden. I have to admit-she plays the game well."

Theo frowned at her words, his voice turning cold. "Janice, don't talk nonsense."

Hearing his disbelief, Janice felt a flash of frustration, her irritation growing. "I'm not making it up! My friend saw her flirting with Cayden, asking him to coach her on the piano."

"She wouldn't do something like that."

Theo shot down the suggestion immediately, his tone firm and unwavering, without a hint of hesitation.

Janice froze for a moment before anger flared in her eyes. "Sierra is a master manipulator, Theo. Don't let her fool you with that act."

"I don't judge people by appearances," he replied calmly, his tone steady and unwavering. "I know exactly what kind of person Sierra is. Janice, you've really misunderstood her."

His voice was as deep and

composed as still water-so calm that even the wind couldn't stir a ripple. Yet, there was an undeniable weight to it, a quiet authority that was impossible to ignore.

Her brows knitted tightly, confusion flashing in her eyes.

Frustrated, she snapped, "Theo, you haven't even known Sierra that long! Why are you siding with her?"
