A Drunken Decision Cynthia Chapter 30
Chapter 30
However, Annabelle was not too conflicted. After all, there were very few geniuses in this world. Ordinary people made up the majority, so a mediocre person like her did not stand out too much.
However, Annabelle tilted her head and glanced at the person beside her. When Annabelle stood with this person, she still felt a little pressured.
Therefore, should she do something after giving birth? Even her brother was working hard. As the older sister, she could not keep slacking off.
Annabelle let out another long sigh. Inside, she thought, “If my family was still the same as before…”
Annabelle immediately stopped herself from thinking about it. If that were the case, Ashley would still be struggling. Annabelle was also part of the Ross family, so she should not only think about her own happiness!
“Yes, yes, yes,” she thought inside. Her current life wasn’t bad either! And it wasn’t a bad thing that Nathan was willing to work hard!
Lucas watched as the moody Annabelle became full of life again in just a moment. Lucas could not help but admire Annabelle’s skills at adjusting her
mood.
After strolling slowly for an hour, the two of them went home. On the way, Lucas received a call. Annabelle waited quietly at the side. Annabelle did not have the hobby of eavesdropping on people’s calls, so she focused her attention on the surroundings. When she retracted her attention, Lucas had already put away his phone and was looking at Annabelle.
“What’s wrong?” Annabelle asked curiously with a puzzled expression. Could it be that the call was related to her?
“Mom wants us to go over for dinner tomorrow!” Lucas was quite careful when he said that. After all, his sister Elizabeth was not very friendly to Annabelle. Lucas could understand if Annabelle was unwilling to go!
“Sure!” Annabelle smiled and agreed happily.
Lucas studied Annabelle carefully for a moment and realized that Annabelle did not seem forced at all. Lucas was instantly curious. “You don’t hate
Elizabeth?”
When Annabelle heard this question, she was stunned for a moment. Then, she laughed softly. “I wouldn’t say I hate her!”
Lucas did not say anything, but he looked like he was anticipating Annabelle’s explanation.
“When I see her, I think of myself. Both of our lives were originally comfortable, but they were ruined because of a person who suddenly appeared. The only difference is our attitudes. She bravely retaliated, wanting to expel the person who suddenly interfered. What about me? Perhaps I’m too kind. I didn’t retaliate and chose to surrender instead!”
In Annabelle’s mind, this small similarity made her not want to hold a grudge against Elizabeth.
Besides, Elizabeth was only one person. Donald, Susan, her in–laws, and Benjamin were all very good people! She liked them very, very much. How could she not enter the Walker family just because of Elizabeth?
When Lucas heard this, the corners of his mouth twitched uncontrollably. However, he did not forget to mention that if Elizabeth dared to bully Annabelle again, Lucas would definitely teach Elizabeth a lesson.
Annabelle was very happy to hear that. It was good enough that Lucas could say something like that.
However, there was no need to teach any lessons. “Peace at home is everything!” Annabelle said. “Time reveals one’s true nature. After I spend more time with Elizabeth, she will know that I’m a good person and won’t be mean to me anymore!”
Lucas listened to Anabelle and neither agreed nor objected.
Annabelle did not know what the meaning of this was and did not take it to heart.
The next day was Sunday and also New Year’s Day. Annabelle and Lucas had breakfast and went to the Walkers‘ family home.

Chapter 30
Sat, 24 Jun
The car dreve straight into the courtyard. When Annabelle got out of the car, she saw Mary, Donald, and Susan waiting with smiles.
“Are you used to living outside? Did Lucas bully you? Does he still ask you to cook for him every day?” Seeing her get out of the car, Mary left Donald and Susan, and quickly walked over to hold Annabelle’s hand. Mary unleashed all the worries that she had kept in for the past few days.
Annabelle smiled sweetly and warmly. She really, really liked Mary! Of course, she loved the rest of the family as well.
“Everything’s fine!” Annabelle said in a gentle voice. “The baby is very obedient and doesn’t give me a hard time at all. It’s fine for me to do some cooking! The ingredients were all brought over by Brenda, the part–time housekeeper. It’s very convenient!”
Besides, when Annabelle cooked, Lucas would take the initiative to help clean up the aftermath. Cooking didn’t lire Annabelle out at all.
When Mary heard Annabelle say that the baby for being obedient, Mary’s attention was immediately diverted. She lowered her head and looked at Annabelle’s abdomen with a gentle expression.
“Mary, why are you making Annabelle stand there? Hurry up and bring her into the house! It’s very cold outside!” Susan saw that the two of them were not going over and was instantly anxious. She also wanted to see Annabelle and her great–grandson. If it wasn’t for Donald holding her back, Susan. would have gone up to them long ago.
Thinking of this, Susan could not help but glare at Donald. Donald’s legs were acting up, so he should have waited in the house! Why did he have to come
out with them and hold Susan back?
Donald pretended he did not see Susan’s glare. Donald just wanted to see his great–grandson too!
After being reminded by Susan, Mary also realized the problem and quickly brought Annabelle home.
“Grandpa, Grandma!” Annabelle greeted the two seniors with a smile.
Smiles immediately bloomed on Donald and Susan’s faces. Susan even pushed Donald to the side and helped Annabelle into the house.
“Come in quickly. You’re not freezing, are you? Look at your cold hands!”
“It’s not cold!”
Donald, who had been pushed to the side, watched helplessly as Susan asked about Annabelle’s well–being. Susan did not care about Donald at all. Why couldn’t Susan have pushed Mary to the side and walked Annabelle into the house together with Donald instead?
Donald was disappointed that Susan did not have any tacit understanding with him at all! Fortunately, Donald had a good temper. “Otherwise, I would have divorced you long ago!” Donald huffed to himself.
Of course, Donald only dared to mutter this secretly to himself. Otherwise, Susan would bite his head off.
When Lucas came over with his things, he happened to hear Donald’s words. He could not help but look at Donald sympathetically. “Grandpa, have you always had such thoughts? Why haven’t you said anything? Even though you’re kind–hearted, you can’t let yourself suffer. How about this? I’ll help you tell Grandma. As a married couple, you should separate if you don’t get along. Otherwise, it’ll be a tragedy for everyone! These things can’t be forced!”
With that, Lucas carried his things into the house.
Donald was stunned by his grandson’s words. When Donald processed the meaning, Lucas had already entered the house. Donald instantly became anxious. As Donald chased after Lucas, Donald shouted, “Rascal, how dare you!”
With that speed, it didn’t look like there was anything wrong with Donald’s legs.
After entering the door, he saw Lucas changing his shoes. Donald quickly went up and grabbed Lucas’s arm. “Brat, if you dare to spout nonsense in front of Susan, I’ll break your legs! Do you understand?”
Lucas had an innocent expression on his face. He did not take Donald’s threat seriously at all. “How is that nonsense? I’m just trying to help…”
Before Lucas could finish speaking, he was interrupted by a series of screams from inside the house. Shocked, Lucas forgot about arguing with Donald and went straight to the living room.
