Chapter A dream
My body ached a lot and I felt truly exhausted, in the distance I could hear sirens and conversations. Where was I? I tried to open my eyes but they were too heavy or maybe I just didn't have the strength to open them. Finally, I gave up and let myself be carried away by the fatigue.
I didn't know how many hours had passed, but here I was again lost in my thoughts unable to wake up. I was about to give up when a very familiar voice echoed all around me.
That voice was Serkan's. Had he come? But where was he? Something very bad must be happening for him to come looking for me.
I wanted to decipher what he was saying but the echo was not allowing me to understand clearly.
His words continued to sound one after the other and desperation was taking over me. I wanted to see him, talk to him. It was true that he was incomplete like an animal, that nothing about our relationship was right, but I had fallen in love with him even maybe since the first day.
I wanted with all my force for this baby to be his, for his blood to run through his veins, a mix of our involuntary love.
"Please, don't leave me, I beg you, come back to me."
His words pierced me, awakening more desperation and anguish. I want to see him, touch him, where was he.
"Serkan!" I shouted for him to hear me but it didn't work.
"Serkan, I want to be with you."
But none of my attempts worked. I was lost. By this point, I think I was dead already, so I gave up and let myself be carried away by a deep darkness.
When I woke up again, I was in the middle of a field of sunflowers, surrounded by their yellow glow and intoxicating fragrance. I closed my eyes automatically to enjoy this wonder.
The sun shone brightly in the blue sky, and a soft breeze caressed my skin, carrying with it the sweet scent of the flowers.
Walking among the tall plants, I felt a sense of peace and serenity that enveloped my entire being. I opened my eyes to look at the sky, but then closed them again and breathed deeply, feeling my heart fill with calm and tranquility.
I lay on the green grass and let myself go. Suddenly, I heard a child's laughter and when I opened my eyes, I saw a little boy with blue eyes and blonde hair running towards me. His face radiated happiness and his eyes shone with a special light that captivated me. He seemed familiar, but where could I know him from? I didn't even know where I was.
"Hello!" he greeted me with a radiant smile. "Are you new here? Do you like this place?"
I nodded, unable to take my eyes off his angelic face. I felt inexplicably drawn to him, as if we were destined to meet in this magical place, as if we had a connection.
The boy sat beside me and together we gazed at the field of sunflowers stretching to the horizon. He didn't say a word until finally, I decided to break the ice. "Where are we? Have you been here long?" I asked curiously.
He turned to me with a beautiful smile.
"No, to be honest, I don't know. I lost track of time. I just came to look for my mom."
His answer surprised me, so I wasn't alone.
"Where is your mom?"
"Over there," he said, laughing heartily.
We talked a little more. The little boy was full of dreams and desires, hopes and longings. He told me incredible stories about imaginary worlds and fantastic adventures, while I listened entranced, immersed in a sea of emotions and sensations. Little by little, reality faded away and I delved completely into this wonderful dream, where time stood still and everything was possible. The boy took my hand and together we continued walking through the field of sunflowers, exploring every corner and discovering the scent of each flower.
Finally, the boy stopped in front of me and looked me in the eyes.
"You must wake up, Samantha," he said softly but firmly. "Your journey is not over yet. You must go back and fulfill your destiny."
"How do you know my name?" I asked amazed.
"How could I not know the name of my beautiful mother? Now you must wake up, Mom. I still have time left, but if you give up, we cannot meet again. Besides, my dad is very sad without you. You must also help him. I know he is a bit grumpy, but he loves you as much as I do."
His words resonated within me, making me reflect on everything I had left behind, on the people who needed me, and on my purpose in this world. I took the boy in my arms and hugged him tight, feeling an indescribable connection with him.
"Thank you for reminding me of who I am, for reminding me of my purpose, and for reminding me of the love I left behind. I promise to wake up and move forward, for you and for all those who need me. I love you, my little angel! I will be waiting eagerly for you."
And with those words, I slowly opened my eyes, leaving behind that beautiful field of sunflowers and the boy who reminded me of my true essence. I found myself in a hospital room, with machines all around and a horrible tube coming out of my mouth. My body ached relentlessly, tears began to flow uncontrollably, but something caught my attention.
In front of the bed was a huge window, and on it was Serkan smiling at me openly. He had a look full of concern, but he was still as handsome and imposing as ever.
A bunch of people entered the room.
"Welcome back, Mrs. Ferner, it's a pleasure to have you back. I am Dr. Fin and I am in charge of you. This is my team of nurses. Please don't get agitated, I will remove this from your mouth," he said, proceeding to take the huge tube out of my mouth, leaving me with a feeling of pain and burning.
"Water," I whispered.
"We will give you some water in a moment, but let me examine you first."
The doctor took a few minutes to make sure everything was fine, and when he finished, he let me rest for a while.
I didn't know the hour or the day, but the room was completely dark. However, someone's cheeks rested on my hand. I tried to touch the person's face, but they woke up and stood up to turn on the light. I shut my eyes and then opened them with difficulty, feeling a strong light shining on my face. I blinked several times until my eyes adjusted to the light and I could see clearly my surroundings.
My heart raced when I saw Omer's face leaning over me, with a look of concern in his eyes.
Wait! What? Omer?
