A Beast For A Beauty

we pulled up to a club called The Watering Hole.

I kind of giggled as I read the name. I parked beside Caleb's car and climbed out. Once Mav and the Alpha are out of my c I shut the door and hit the lock and alarm button on it. I was about to walk over to Ally when I was jerked to the side. “WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU WEARING?” A very pissed-off, Alpha asked me.

“Clothes,” I said.

“Cover-up NOW, Payton!” he says.

I look at the Beast and ask myself why does he cares what I am wearing when he does not even want me. jerked my arm free and walked over to Ally and the boys.

“Shall we?" I said, walking towards the door of the club.

I can feel the beat of the music coming from inside.

We found a table and sat down. I notice there are about six other pack members here I recognized from the training class They wave at us, and we wave back.

“ Order me a diet coke, please, Mav," 1 said,

“ Come on, Ally, itis jam time."

Ally and I used to love going to clubs and parties in our old pack. We love dancing.

We had been hitting the dance floor for the past hour nonstop. I can feel Alpha Brooks’ eyes burning into me. Caleb was watching Ally like a hawk as well.

“I NEED A DRINK CHICKY." Ally yells over the music at me.

I nodded at her and kept dancing. When the current song ends, the DJ plays a slow song. I was about to walk back to our table when Mav walked up to me.

“Care to dance PAY?" he asked

“I would love to" I said.

As we are dancing, I happen to look over and see Alpha Brooks walking outside.

“You look incredible, Payton,’ Mav whispers into my ear.

I smile and wrap my arms around his neck tighter. Three songs later, we made our way back to the table. I took the diet coke and chugged it down.

“I need a refill” 1 told the group, dancing my way up to the bar.

I waved down the bartender and ordered another diet coke. As I was waiting, I felt hands slide around my waist. At first, I thought it was Maverick, so I smiled and didn't do anything. But when I heard a voice I had never heard before, I spun around fast.

“You smell incredible!” The guy touching me says.

“You have such soft, smooth skin,” he says, sliding his hands on my bare skin.

“BACK OFF A*****EI" I yelled at him, shoving his hands off me.

“Awe come on, baby, do not be like that," he says, reaching for me again.

I was about to take the a*****e out when there was a loud growl, and the guy was slammed to the floor in the blink of an eye. I look down. Alpha Brooks is pounding away at the guy's face.

“DON'T YOU EVER TOUCH WHAT IS MINE AGAIN!” Alpha Brooks yells.

Before I knew what was happening, Alpha Brooks’ claws came out, and he plunged his claws through the man’s chest, ripping his heart out. The man’s warm blood splattered all over me. I screamed in horror as this man's blood was all over me, and I saw his heart in The Beast's hands. Oh my god, he is a beast.

I scream again as the Beast Rips the man’s head clean off his body.

Ally and Mav are at my side trying to calm me down.

“h..h.he ripped...ripped his heart...heart out.” I managed to say

“MAY THIS BE A LESSON TO YOU ALL the Beast yelled.

“NO ONE TOUCHES WHAT IS MINE."

His eyes are on me. He's breathing heavily, his chest heaving up and down. I have never been afraid of him before, but I a now. I can not believe he just killed a man in cold blood like that. I looked at his hands. He has the guy's heart in my han and his head in the other. The guy's blood is all over me. I bolted out of the club to my car. I hear Mav and Ally behind me “Payton stops, stop,’ Mav says, grabbing my arm

I am shaking.

“God your shaking” Mav says, pulling me into a hug.

“It is OK hun I got you”

I pushed away from him.

“You should not touch me, Mav; the Beast might kill you too," I said.

“l am not worried, babe. The Alpha may beat me, but he will not kill family."

“ Family?”

“Yes, the Alpha is mine and Austin’s Cousin. Our mothers are sisters,” he says.

“Il want to go home now," I said.

“ OK, come on. I will drive us home, ” Mav says,

“No, I can drive," I said, climbing into my car.

I looked up and saw that Caleb and the Beast were now standing there with Ally and Maverick. The heart and head were still clutched in his hands.

I closed my door and locked it. I started the car and peeled out. I left them all standing there. I can not be around that Beast. He killed a man for being drunk and touching me. Something I was handling. He did not even give that guy a break or a warning; he just murdered him. If 1 were to piss him off badly enough, is he going to kill me as well?

I see headlights in the rearview mirror; I know it is them. I pushed on the gas. When I saw the road to the packhouse, I turned without even slowing down. My car skidded all over, but I did not care. I reached the gatehouse and opened my window. When the guard sees it is me, he opens the gate, and I floor it. I parked my car to the side. I will put it away later. As I get out, the other car is pulling up. I just walked straight into the packhouse and up to my room. I heard Maverick calling my name from the first flight of stairs as I hit the top of the 4th floor. I ran down the hall, opened my room door, stepped in, slammed it shut, and locked it behind me. I just need some time alone. I head straight to the bathroom, strip turn the water on hot, and step in. I have to get this man’s blood off me.

Beta Caleb

“Are you happy now, i***t2" I said to Alpha Brooks.

“You did not have to kill that man. He was drunk, and if you hadn't noticed Brooks, “I say

“She had it handled.”

“He touched her, Caleb,” he says,

“And she handled it, man," 1 said.

“You went off the deep end. The elders are not going to like that you took his life.”

“I saw Red, OK?”

“1 hated Samuel anyway, and he touched my mate. Akela did not like it

“A mate, you do not even want, man," I said.

“ She knows it too; she is only here because she saved her brother from you, Brooks.”

“You think I do not know that? I do not want her; I can not stand having a mate. It makes me weak. I am better off with ju: random women, but my damn wolf wants her, and he keeps fighting me.” Alpha Brooks says

“Listen man, you need to figure out what it is you want because you can not keep killing people, Brooks,” I said.

" You even freaked out, my mate. Now I have to go calm her down. I will see you tomorrow. Try to stay out of trouble till then”

I know Caleb is right. I am already in hot water with the elders about my ways as it is.

“Are you happy now, Mutt? You just scared the girls and caused more issues for us. *

“ He touched our mate. No one touches our mate,” he says.

“YOUR MATE MUTT, I DO NOT WANT HER"

Akela blocks me out, stupid mutt.

I headed to the yard and stuck the head and heart of the man I killed on a stake with the rest of the men 1 had killed. Then, I headed inside to clean up.

When 1 reach my floor, I find myself just outside her door. I hear the shower running and her crying. I will not allow mysel to feel bad. I am the Beast. I must be feared. I continued to my room where I myself went and took a shower.

I finished my shower and threw on a baggy pair of grey jogging pants I stole from my brother along with a t-shirt. I climbe into my bed and picked up my phone. There is only one person in the world I want to talk to right now.

"Hey Jax 2"

" Hey, shrimp, it is so good to hear from you.”

"I wish I was there with you right now, Jax. I really need my brother and our run.’

“ Payton, what is wrong? What Happened? Are you OK?”

"No!" I broke down, crying again.

" What the hell, Payton? What the hell is going on?”

I told Jax everything that happened tonight and how I just wanted to go home.

“God Payton, he really is a beast. Thank God he did not touch you."

Jax manages to calm me down. And I am laughing by the time we say our goodnights and hang up. I love my brother. He always manages to make me feel better.

I am not tired, so I turn on Netflix. I needed a laugh right now, so I put the movie Grown-ups on. 30 minutes into the mov there was a knock on my door. 1 sigh and pause the movie to go answer my door.

When 1 opened the door, it was Maverick standing there.

“Hey, I came to see how you're doing,” he says.

“ There was no way I could go to sleep till I knew you were OK."

“I talked to my brother, I tell him,

“ Like always, he made me feel better”

“ Great, I am glad, Payton, so what are you doing?”

“l am watching the movie Grown Ups on Netflix *, I tell him.

“Want to watch it with me?” I asked him.

“Yes, sure” he smiles.

I let him into my room, and we cuddled on the couch as I restarted the movie.

We are halfway through the movie laughing and talking about the funny scene when, all of a sudden, I shot up straight, clutching my chest. I screamed out in pain. The most excruciating pain I have ever felt is ripping through me.

“Payton? Payton, talk to me, honey. What is wrong?” Maverick asked.

“ pain... excruciating pain. it is hard to breathe”

“it is our mate." I hear my wolf, Aurora

“He is matting another female”

I am screaming, in pain, gasping for breath. How could he?

Maverick pulls me into his arms.

“ Breath, baby breath, I will get you to the pack hospital”

I screamed out again. It seemed to be getting worse.

“He is matting” I managed to say.

Oh god no," says Maverick.

“ That BASTARD *

I managed to get to my feet and stumbled to the door.

“Payton, where are you going?” Mav asked me.

I did not answer him. Instead, I opened my door, stumbled out, and across the hall, I burst through the Beast's door. And there I see him on top of some red-headed she-wolf as she screams Alpha.

“YOU SON OF A b***hi" I screamed at him.

“HOW CAN YOU PUT ME THROUGH SO MUCH PAIN?”

He stops when he hears me, a shocked look on his face.

“FIRST YOU MURDER A MAN FOR TOUCHING ME, AND NOW TORTURE ME BY f*****g A w***e AND CAUSE ME TO BE EXCRUCIATING PAIN."

Then everything goes black.

When I wake up, I look around and see I am in some kind of room. I felt someone holding my hand and turning my head t see who it was. There, holding my hand and passing out on the chair beside me is Maverick. I smiled and then touched hi arm.

“ Oh hey, you're awake.’

“How do you feel?” he asks.

“Tired” “what happened?" asked.

“You fainted, sweetheart.”

“The Alpha,” 1 said. “

Pain.’

“1am so sorry, sweetheart, but yes, the pain was so bad you fainted from it.”

“ Let me guess," I said.

“ He did not care, did he?”

“Do not worry about him, Payton.”

“Answer me, Mav, now, “1 said.

“ Fine, no, he did not seem to care.”

“ He just continued to have sx with the girl as if we were not there”

“I need to know his first name, Mav."

“1...1 can not tell you that, Payton,” he says.

am sorry, but I can’t”

“ Why? Why not? I asked

“You saw what he has done, and you still will not tell me, so 1 am able to reject him?”

“1 would if 1 could have Payton, but he has Alpha voiced everyone who knows never to tell anyone his real name. So you see, I can not tell you."

“ Damn, fine, 1 will have to figure out another way."

Once the doctor comes in and clears me, Mav walks me back to my room.

“I have to head to training, sweetheart. You go rest today, “he says.

“ OK, just work on the one-on-one combat,” I told him.

“You got it, babe. I will come back after and check on you, OK?"

“Sounds good,” I said.

“1am just really tired.”

He leans down and lightly pecks my lips, smiles, and then backs away smiling.

I enter my room , plop down on my bed, and close my eyes. I am just too tired to move.

“Well, you look comfortable.”

My head shoots up, and I look to the door.

Standing there is none other than the Beast.

I fight to sit up

“ What the hell do you want, Beast?” I asked.

“did you come to gloat? Or just finish me off?”

He did not say a word; instead, he just stared at me.

“If you are done, I wanna sleep,’ I said

He steps out and shut my door.

“Jerk’, 1 plop back down and pass out.
