Chapter 16
Iris couldn't deny the man was large everywhere but somehow, ignoring the pain she felt at first and right now, it all fit, somehow it had been possible for her body to accommodate him.
She was well aware that this had only been possible because of the physical changes that had been made to her body, and as she washed off the sweat from their last romp, she wondered what other changes indicated it.
But before she had a chance to think about it further, she heard her name.
"Iris, please come here."
She looked quickly in the mirror, straightened her hair that stood on end, and wrapped herself in a towel before walking over to him.
Kyr'nac looked at the little woman walking up to him, before he left he had to know.
He looked at her with his head slightly tilted.
"Why do you work here? You are anything but a prostitute..."
Immediately he saw her face paled and her heartbeat quicken.
Why did he had to ask her this, Iris wondered desperately, she couldn't give him an answer, if the boss found out, she'd be dead.
"Iris..."
"Please don't ask, I can't do anything else..."
She quickly averted her gaze and looked at the ground.
"There are other options, you can work in a bar or something..., I don't know what background you have, but there is always a demand for medical personnel, even without papers..."
Her stomach turned and she laughed scornfully .
"Please stop..."
Kyr'nac's hair stood on end at the sneer of laughter and her whispering voice, ...h'ko..., and he felt the ground sink beneath him.
"...You are forced..."
Her silence told him enough and a cold shiver ran down his spine, a wave of nausea filled his stomach.
"I'm sorry if I had known this I would never asked for your services..."
Her head flew up and before he knew it she was standing right in front of him, holding his head in her hands causing the towel to slide off her body.
"No, don't! You didn't force me!"
She looked at him insistently, a blush colored her cheeks.
"Yes, I'm not here of my own free will..." Quickly she looked at the door, hoping no one had heard her.
"But with you was anything but forced!" Her cheeks turned even redder and she took a deep breath.
"On the contrary... I know I'm just one of the girls to you, and that's fine, don't get me wrong..." She quickly corrected, feeling him tense up.
"But for me it was nice that you were the first..."
She quickly averted her eyes, hoping she hadn't offended him or make him uncomfortable.
PAUK! PAUK! He should have known! The moment he realised something was off... He should have known!
He clenched his teeth and spread his mandibles in irritation at his own stupidity, how could he have been so blind.
In a flash he saw that his irritated attitude was frightening her, and before she could pull away from him, he grabbed her wrists.
His whole attitude had changed and Iris was startled, what if she had made a mistake in judgment and he had acted and was basically friends with the boss...? She felt a chill as he grabbed her wrists and she began to tremble.
"Iris...Iris look at me!"
His voice was compelling and she could do nothing but look at him from beneath her eyelashes. She would rather run away and cry in a corner.
His stomach turned at the sight of the fear in her eyes, how could this go wrong so quickly, so terribly?
"I'm not going to hurt you, Iris, please believe me..." Although his voice sounded raw and measured, there was a plea in it that gave Iris some hope.
"Please don't tell the boss I told you we're being forced..., please...."
Chills ran down his spine at the fear in her voice, she was terrified that he would say anything to the owner. He let go of her wrists and gripped her face with his large claws, lifting it up, forcing her to look straight at him. He felt her tiny hands cling to his wrists, her fingers couldn't even cover a third of his wrist.
How could he leave her here knowing this and he sighed, he always knew how to get into trouble, but the way she looked at him, the look in her eyes was worth all the trouble...
"I'll get you out of here..."
He saw the little smile on her face, she lowered her eyes again and he knew she didn't believe him.
"Iris!" His voice was harsh.
"Look at me! By the goddess! When I make a promise, I'll keep it!"
Her gaze instantly flew up to meet his, her eyes had widened and she looked at him bewildered.
"Why would you do that? I'm nothing more than a whore..."
Hearing her words he felt an anger rise and his mandibles widened.
"You're not a whore! And I will get you out of here, you got that?!"
Her eyes examined him for a while and he felt her thumbs unconsciously caressing the skin on his wrists and he became aware of her nakedness again.
"Why? Why do you want to do this?"
Pensively she was looking at him, searching for something, dishonesty maybe, Kyr'nac didn't know.
"Like I said..., you're not a whore..."
He wanted to be honest with her, tell her that from the moment she bumped into him, she hadn't left his mind. But he couldn't... He had once lost his heart and it cost him dearly, he literally had the scars on his face so he could never forget.
"Why, Scars? I'm blond, not crazy, nobody does something like that for no reason..."
Kyr'nac cocked his head, he didn't understand, what did light hair have to do with stupidity? Were light-haired humans stupid...? He shrugged, probably a human expression...
"Kyr'nac, not scars..."
He'd completely forgotten he never told her his namen, even though she had told him hers right from the start, ...he really was an ass...
His callous, clawed thump stroke her bottom lip and he felt her heartbeat speed up, her breath hitched.
"Because I want to..."
A loud drum on the door startled both of them. "HEY, TIME'S UP!" A gruffly voice shouted.
Hesitantly Kyr'nac rose to his feet.
"Try to lay low the next couple of days... I'll try to get you out as soon as I can..."
Iris looked into his eyes, to find some sort of deceit, but she couldn't and finally she nodded.
"I'll try..."
(h'ko: No)
