Chapter ch 83

Five minutes, just five minutes later, Zack left that building and Andrea felt a rage like she hadn’t felt in a long time. Especially because she looked at her watch and realized that for a few days Zack had been disappearing from the company around that time. She hadn’t given it much importance because the truth was that Zack never sat behind a desk, he was always on the move; but seeing that, that particular piece had fallen into place. He didn’t even go to the company. He turned around and went home to try to calm down, and when Zack arrived in the afternoon with Andrea, she didn’t exactly greet him with a kiss. “What were you doing with Giselle today in a building downtown?” she asked him directly to his chest and Zack opened his eyes wide. He already knew that she wasn’t one to beat around the bush, but she immediately denied it. “I don’t know what you’re talking about, Andrea,” he said, looking her straight in the eyes and she clenched her fists. “I saw you, Zack! I saw you today!” You went into the building on Hinter Street with Friedberg… Friedb… That very one! Don’t play dumb! I saw you with these eyes! —Andrea exclaimed angrily. Zack blinked in shock but continued to deny it. —Well, yes, I did go to that place, but not to see Giselle. Never to see Giselle! —he replied. Andrea felt helplessness overcome her and put an accusatory finger in front of her nose. —She left and you left five minutes later —she hissed—. You’ve been sneaking out of the office every day to go to that place. You’ve been seeing her! Why are you denying it? Thank you for reading on LeeNovelas.com. —Because it’s not true! —Zack growled—. Yes, I have gone to that building every day at that time… and yes, I have been seeing someone, but not… —With another woman!? Have you been seeing another woman?! —Andrea yelled at him. —Well, I have seen a woman, but she’s not what I f… —Don’t fuck with me, Zack! That’s not what I think?! Really? As a response, Zack pulled that accusatory little finger and pressed her against his body while his mouth was very close to hers. Something vibrated inside him and he didn’t know how to explain it. —Well, you know what. If you think I’m cheating on you, prove it to me! If you think I’m with someone else, try to catch me red-handed! he challenged her just before kissing her. Remember. Read this novel only at LeeNovelas.com, not on other sites. Two bites and three grunts later, he was leaving, slamming the door behind him, and Andrea was making a superhuman effort not to throw something against the door. But if he thought she was stupid, she was going to prove him wrong very soon! Needless to say, she didn’t sleep that night, half because she was sad and the other half because she couldn’t stop thinking of torture methods… and half because she didn’t believe that Zack was capable of cheating on her and she desperately needed an explanation that he hadn’t given her… Well, it wasn’t like she had let him talk much, right? The next day she didn’t even wait for him. He left in a taxi and dropped Adriana off at her daycare. She saw him arrive at work and they looked at each other with a concentrated challenge, because Zack knew that she would not lose sight of him for a second. “Do you really think I’m cheating on you?” He rebuked her, narrowing his eyes when the time was almost approaching when he had to disappear. “Well, if you say no…” She shrugged as if she didn’t care, but fifteen minutes before eleven she left the office. An umbrella was all that was needed, an umbrella and a coffee to hide while she saw Giselle enter the building and a few minutes later Zack arrived. “I’ll kill him! I’ll kill him! Damn cheater!” She growled angrily as she closed the umbrella and went up the stairs. She saw Zack go up and followed him, turned every corner after him, and when she saw him open that door at the end of the hallway and enter, she ran towards it as fast as she could. “I told you I was going to catch you, you son of a bitch!” Andrea was speechless when she saw Zack lying on the couch. “As I was saying, doctor, my wife is not jealous, not toxic at all. She doesn’t have delusions of infidelity, nor does she chase me all over the city to see if she catches me red-handed with someone else…” he declared, looking at the ceiling, as if she wasn’t standing at the door with her umbrella raised like Thor’s hammer. “Huh? Doctor?” The woman, in her sixties and kind-looking, pointed to the door and Andrea read the sign that she hadn’t even bothered to look at before. “Dr. Clarissa Flynn… Psychologist”… Ah…!” she murmured and saw Zack almost double over with laughter from his couch. “Um… What a shame, isn’t it?” he stepped back and felt the door handle. “Well, I’d better go… um… mmm…” “Mrs. Brand, the way I see things, you need as much therapy as your husband,” the doctor said. “How about you stay until the session is over?” Andrea gulped, but the doctor looked so respectable that she didn’t dare contradict her. —Well… yes, of course… I can stay. —Perfect, but leave the gun at the door, please —she said pointing at the umbrella and Andrea immediately let go of it. —Yes, of course… of course! What a pity! Well, I’m staying, right? She left the umbrella and her coat on the hanger and sat next to Zack, who had already stood up to make room for her. Andrea glanced at him and he just took her hand and kissed the back of it before putting it on his forehead and bursting out laughing. What was supposed to be an individual session, at least that day, became a little couples therapy and while she listened to Zack talk, Andrea couldn’t help but feel her heart fill with calm, because he was finally letting out all that pain that had been stuck for so long. —Why didn’t you tell me? —she asked as they walked out hand in hand and Zack put an arm around her shoulders. —I don’t know, it’s not something to be proud of, it was just something I had to do and I did it —he answered shrugging. —Well, I am proud —said Andrea stopping—.I’m so proud of you for seeking help, for doing whatever it takes to move on, that means you’re a very brave man, Thorcito. —And you know I’m not doing it for myself—he answered, wrapping her in a hug—. I’m doing it for our family. —I would do anything to see you happy, Zack said, bringing his face closer to hers and sealing their lips in a sweet and flirtatious kiss. Do you know that you looked very s@xy in your toxic stalker mode? Andrea pouted before hitting him on the shoulder and he gave her a smile and kissed her on the forehead before taking her hand again. However, even though her heart was calm now, that didn’t mean she would forget what she had seen. —Zack, I didn’t lie to you, I did see Giselle yesterday, she said seriously. —And I saw her today too. She came in just a few minutes before you and… look, call me crazy or whatever you want, but I don’t believe in coincidences. Zack frowned as he walked thoughtfully. “I really can’t think of anything. I’ve been coming to the sessions with the doctor… Maybe she lives in one of the apartments on the top floors…” but suddenly he just shook his head. “No, it just doesn’t make any sense for Giselle to be here, or to live in Lucerne.”She took a deep breath and shrugged. Look, Cupcake, I really have no idea, but I haven’t had anything to do with Giselle for a long time. Things between her and I died for me even a year before I met you, so whatever she does in this city, it has nothing to do with me. Andrea nodded, although she didn’t buy the coincidence. “I know, Thorcito, but just because you don’t chase her doesn’t mean she’s not chasing you,” she replied. “Well, that has an easy solution. Protect me, my love, adopt me, let me go home, return me to my bed and watch over my dreams…” “Do you want to go back home to sleep?” Andrea accused him, scandalized, and Zack lifted her up to take her mouth. “I want to go back to fuck you wildly… and live with the loves of my life,” he murmured with a bright smile. “You’re a manipulator,” Andrea replied, playing hard to get. They walked back to the office and then had lunch together, but Andrea couldn’t stop thinking about that all day. Zack was a grown man, he knew how to take care of himself… but that didn’t mean he had to, because after all, that’s what they were a couple for. “Do you want me to take you to dinner or should we order something?” Zack asked that afternoon as she opened the door to her house. “Well… I’m going to cook something delicious,” Andrea murmured. “And you’re going to your mother’s house.” Zack pouted. “Already? So early?” He protested. “Well, the earlier you leave, the sooner you’ll be back. How long does it take you to pick up your clothes?” Andrea asked and Zack looked at her with his chest puffed out with excitement. “Are you serious? Aren’t you playing with me?” He asked nervously and she shook her head. “Of course not.” Suddenly she saw him running back to the car and in less than thirty seconds he came back with a backpack on his shoulder. “Did you have your things in the car?” Zack lifted her by the waist and kissed her passionately as he felt that he was finally happy. “What do you want me to say? I’ve always been ready to go back.”
