Her Heart Her Terms (Lily and Xavier)

Chapter 283

Chapter 283

When the name "Mr. Fulton" was mentioned, Lily immediately thought of Xavier. The following remark confirmed her suspicion.

Landon looked at her. "Is it the client you saw yesterday?"

"No." She wasn't sure how to navigate this tricky situation but instinctively distanced herself from Xavier. "I don't know him. He must have the wrong person. Just tell him there's no such person here." Daphne looked terrified as she glanced at the man sitting in the break area, surrounded by Terry and a few others. His presence was commanding.

She shook her head. "I just came to call you,"

"Sorry, Mr. Ashford. I'll handle this Lily couldn't figure out why Xavier was here, but the word "client" probably didn't apply to him-it was just something Daphine had added

Xavier wasn't interested in her or this small store. He must have come for something else.

Landon told her to handle it, and she followed Daphine out.

From a distance, she saw Xavier in the break area, surrounded by several designers, with Terry taking the lead. The others stood nearby, trying to bear the pressure of his cominanding alc.

Terry launched into a series of questions. "Mr. Fulton, could you tell us what type of house you're looking for? Do you have any specific design requirements?"

Xavier didn't answer. His gaze pierced through the crowd, locking onto Lily when she entered.

She walked in and went straight to Landon's office, still wearing a cream-coloted down jacket. Her hair was half tied up in a bun, and she wore light makeup. She exuded a noblewoman's delicate, refined air. How had she ended up here, playing the role of an attendant who had to please others? tia month, she cared less than he gave in tips.

She wasn't young and had quite a temper. Was she still holding onto that mistaken belief that he had cheated? If so, would she return once he cleared things up?

If that were the case, she had wasted enough time giving him that cold treatment daily, putting on an act. What had he done wrong?

Xavier held onto a sense of injustice, fully aware he had been wrongly accused. That was why he couldn't accept her attitude.

Lily took off her down jacket, set her bag down, and walked toward the group.

Seeing that his question went unanswered, Terry wisely refrained from asking again, and as soon as Lily approached, they all scattered.

"Do you need something?" She hesitated before speaking. "If you need something, you can just call."

Xavier suddenly smiled and asked, "Lily, you have a lot of clients to keep track of, but you've forgotten to unblock me."

She truly had forgotten. Every time she needed something from him, she would temporarily unblock him.

On the day of the divorce, she blocked him and never unblocked him. Now that he claimed to have found evidence of infidelity and was waiting for the divorce, she knew she couldn't keep him blocked. "Did the Investigation yield results?"

She was about to unblock him but then stopped. At this point, if he had indeed found the results, they could go straight to the courthouse. There would be no reason for her to unblock him. The result of the investigation didn't matter to her. "Ms. Joyner, I'maclient." Xavier corrected her. "Be careful with your tone and attitude."

His tone made it clear he was still upset from the previous night. Perhaps she had taken such an attitude because the infidelity issue had not been cleared up. He thought about it all night before coming up with the idea to have her adjust her attitude and be soft and obedient toward him again, just like before.
